I am trying to fight my way thru dwarfs to josephina. This is the burial
ground area of the dark forest. I am trying to solve this to complete the
elven council of seven quest.

I am playing a 39th level mage with the dragon armor. I have completed nearly
all the riverton area quests.

what is your question? how to defeat them? Use scorpion traps and go up again, wait and finish them off.

yes i am trying to defeat all enemies in that area

well,orcs shouldn't be a problem at that level,and those dwarves are pretty sensitive to lightning...but josefina (cave N-W in camp)is something special...
on her i used skeletal wall and summon deamon as decoy,and frost sword for finish <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Ranger: Both times, however, she fell quite quickly, as did her escorts, to a steady stream of Hell Spikes (at level 5 without ever taking a point in the skill--lots of nice books). When she would blind me, I'd suck a shadow potion and stand around until the blind wore off, being able to then hit her with 3 or so Hell Spikes before being blinded again. She fell easily both times (though was still one of the game's hardest fights

Warriors use a shadow potion and then the Whirl attack not ON but near her
Use Aura of Command on her deadknight and hit her with a frost weapon, blinding her, too - so she can't summon more

Mage: Curse her several times (survivor spell) to set down her resistances, then freeze, life leech and elemental strike
Summon skeletons to distract her and hellspikes
deadly discs standing near to her so the radius can get her and her deadknights

Survivors: Scorpion traps.

As a mage:
Running around trailing a wall of fire. Dual purpose of not getting hit by hellspikes and killing of dwarves that are tracking you.
Loading up on a damage shield and then spamming elemental bolts, running around to use a restoration potion, rince & repeat till Josephina runs.

As a warrior:
Barge in, toss around a lot of whirlwind attacks, keep a finger near the restoration spell hotkey, restoration potion hotkey, stamina potion hotkey.
Smack up Josephina ignoring the hellspikes.

As a survivor:
Toss in scorpion traps (and remember there is no such thing as overkill).
