hi,

will there be another big patch in September with new companions?

Hope the next patch will include some balancing wink
Posted By: LeBurns Re: Big Patch in September? - 04/09/14 01:05 PM
Supposedly ... unless it doesn't.

This weekend, with the added Labor Day holiday, found me with nothing to do since I'm waiting on the new companions and patch, so I started playing DA:O again. I'm completely hooked dang it.
i remember that somebody here in the Larian Forum said that new Companions will be added in a big Patch in Aug/Sept. wink
Well swen said it's in testing on twittar so it shouldn't be far off
Every few days I start up Steam and see whether a patch tries to download. When the new companions come I'm going to play the heck out of this game; I just hope they come soon, otherwise I'll be caught up in other titles and likely never actually experience this one.

Could you provide a link? Or the text of the tweet? smile

It's in testing but as it requires full play throughs, that takes time.

COOL! smile
Lots of other goodies from Cyberstalking Swen, like, they are going to experiment with VR! And they had some funny business in Canada - are they opening a branch there???

Heh, took me 140+ hours to get through my first run through. We shooting for October? horsey
hopefully not!

but haste makes waste smile
Still waiting on some actual documentation about the Divinity Engine. Videos can only do so much, especially if it has been ~2 months since the last videos were uploaded (more so since they didn't cover Main Campaign modding at all).
Ah can't wait for the patch, while I'm looking forward to playing the game past experiences has taught me to wait for patches to iron out bugs and other issues. The balance shift especially make me wait as while I can certainly see the need I prefer to plan my character and the balance being upset mid playthrough isn't a fun experience.
i canエt wait too - A good thing takes time! opa

Do you think that they add new companions or do we have to wait until the Patch after the next one...?!

COOL!

"Vincke mentions that the studio is working on bringing out a "much better, harder, difficulty level" in which all encounters will be different, as well as fine-tuning the game's inventory management."
Will they copy-paste source-difficulty mod? smile
what???

opy-paste source-difficulty???

Okay, let's call it now -- Monday, the 15th, new companions appear in my game!

I feel the spell about to be broken! (`o _ o)
Honestly, I've gotten so distracted by re-playing DA:O I've forgotten about it. I'm like "fix the game whenever ... I'm good".

Maybe tomorrow? They just said they finished shooting footage for the kickstarter update!

I finally decided to play Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. I don't know how I missed playing the BG series in their heyday, but it is brutal. I can't count the number of times I've died and had to reload, and I'm still level 1. I should probably drop the difficulty down, but I'm a glutton for punishment.

All I can say is that would be a heck of a nice way to begin my weekend...

I'm expecting something posted/updated on Friday. They have been releasing content on Friday. I personally think it is a horrible idea as if content is released on a Monday, they got the work week to resolve any major bugs instead of letting them fester over a weekend.

http://www.lar.net/2014/09/12/thoughts-after-releasing-divinityoriginal-sin-and-what-comes-next/

"Our plan is to continue supporting D: OS for quite some time as this is the RPG framework on which we値l build our next games. We池e fooling around with controller support to see if a big screen version with cooperative play would work well, something I知 silently hoping for as I think it値l be a lot of fun, more so perhaps than playing coop in LAN with a friend sitting next to you. We池e also improving the engine itself as well as adding a bunch of extra features that not only make D: OS more fun and more friendly to players, but that will also improve whatever our next offering will be. We池e also adding extra content, like for instance the big companion patch, voiced et al, and I imagine that won稚 be the last of what we値l add."

No mentioning when the update will happen, guess they found some more issues and delayed the update. I was expecting an expansion or something, since they do bring in good money, or no one would do them.
Posted By: Scry_Kane Re: Big Patch in September? - 13/09/14 02:43 AM
Guess I'm still betting on Monday the 15th...

What do I do now, though? The weekend's here and all I have is this gods-damned temperate summer and a family. >:[

The update was ready; it is just waiting on Steam to do something.
Posted By: Jachal Re: Big Patch in September? - 13/09/14 09:51 AM
That would be perfect if it was released today!! This is my first weekend off in months and I can sit back and relax finally with a second play through.
Posted By: Vashie Re: Big Patch in September? - 13/09/14 12:38 PM
I don't think they will release anything on the weekend but I hope I'm wrong.
Posted By: EinTroll Re: Big Patch in September? - 13/09/14 02:03 PM
So blame Steam it is, then. I wonder if this update also comes with a certain something I've been waiting for...

Just let us torrent it.

Huh? I meant they should just let us torrent it (as I said) instead of waiting for Steam to distribute the patch ... not like we need Steam to start the game.

Ahhhh Ok smile biggrin

Steam is still on 1.0.132

Are Steam Employees working on Sundays?

Probably not. What a bummer frown
Posted By: stubbie Re: Big Patch in September? - 14/09/14 11:13 AM
Unfortunately I have the GOG version so I will probably get the patch sometime after Steam does........this year would be nice.

usually GOG releases the Patches only a few hours or one day after STEAM...
Posted By: Raze Re: Big Patch in September? - 14/09/14 06:22 PM

Also, there is an auto-updater now for the GOG version, which should be faster than waiting for the patch.

The UI Scaling is new to this patch, correct?

Also, I think this has been around for a while, but what is Dynamic Combat Camera supposed to do? It doesn't seem to do anything on my end.

Did the patch today solve the OS 32bit saving issue?
Posted By: EinTroll Re: Big Patch in September? - 15/09/14 03:25 PM
Well, the patch is live and good...

...but still no engraving tools for me. Maybe I should give up waiting and just play the game already. Or maybe give it one more patch.

It looks like they'll appear later (IIRC he said "in the coming weeks" in the KS update).

Speaking of the KS update, where's David? Has he recovered from his accident?

Lariarn did not add a new difficult level...?!
But they wanted, right?

And what about balancing changes?
