This will be a continuation of my first thread with an updated list of the recipes on a clean format as I am unable to modify the old thread further.

MODS AND TOOLS
> First of all is the Googledoc provided by PatrickSJ and Alynora which displays many crafting recipes in game.
> Fix for Missing Recipes mod by unuroboros

Will be trying to update crafting requirement skills to this list as well

[BR X] For Blacksmithing Requirements
[CR X] For Crafting Requirements

Where X is skill required (X for unknown at this time)

NOTE: Exact stats are not mentioned on crafted items as these will scale depending on players level and crafting skill

There are no "crafting stations", so if the recipe doesn't require something like an anvil/forge you can just combine the components in your inventory by dragging them together.
The first forge can be found in Cyseal near the Abandoned House.

How do I craft recipes involving 2 stackable items?
If you want to make a large iron bar out of 2 iron bars, but only have a big stack of them instead of multiple individual items, you have to split the pile first. To do so hold the SHIFT key and drag the pile to an empty slot in your inventory. When you combine the piles again, you can select whether you want to craft or stack the items and how many of them you want to create.

How do I unlock recipes?
It is not necessary to unlock the recipes, but some of them require a certain level of crafting / blacksmithing.

What do the books with recipes do?
The recipes are typically described there with some kind of back story. After one of your chars has read the book the text of the whole book will be permanently listed in the recipe tab (click on the note symbol next to the minimap) and stay there even if you sell the book afterwards.

Help! It doesn't work!!!
The inventory management can be a bit annoying, so make sure that you have actually selected your crafter after moving components around from inventory to inventory.
If your crafting/blacksmithing level is not high enough, a message is going to appear over the head of the crafter, so make sure that this isn't being blocked by something like the inventory screen.
If everything seems to fail try one of the simple recipes like the food stuff (Pizza Sauce = Tomato + Hammer) to make sure that you are doing it right.

Which kind of items can boost my crafting / blacksmithing skills?
So far the bonus tend to exclusively show up on bracers and belts. Maybe some high level items or uniques can improve these skills as well, but I wouldn't count on it.

Does my level or skill level affect the items?
The quality of some items seems to scale with your level and how many skill points you have in crafting / blacksmithing. The crafted items that are not consumable have the same level as your crafter. This does not affect the attribute / skill / resistance bonus of crated items, but only their damage + defence rating as well as their price. Blacksmithing gives you a notable bonus to the damage and defence rating of the forged items as well.

Do I have to make one of my main chars a crafter or are there any companions that can craft well?
Nope, unless both of your characters are using Lone Wolf. You will find a good crafter very early in the game.
His name is Jahan - he is located on the first floor of the major's house in Cyseal.

Is it worth it?
Absolutely! Even if you want to save the rare crafting materials just upgrading your weapons and armor through anvil, whetstone and the mobile kitchen gives you a significant boost. Your forged strength based melee weapons are better than most of the non-unique weapons that you can find.
You will always have gear that is your level and can't get screwed by the random loot.
Upgrading the items that you don't need or just crafted iron weapons in order to sell them is also quite profitable.
Blacksmithing allows you to repair your gear, although that is not that important as it might sound.

Through crafting you can equip your party with decent rings, amulets and belts until you find a permanent replacement for them. The attribute bonus from rings, amulets and belts stay relevant till the midgame, because they can help you wear high level items, equip self-bearing items (like giving your int 5 warrior a Sarong with +1 int +15% resistance that requires 6 int). These attribute bonus are especially important for chars with the Glass Cannon talent, since getting your speed to an odd number will give you +2 additional AP per turn, but at the same time you need to increase you maximum AP through constitution.

Some one find out how to craft Smokescreen Arrowhead please! I have tried so many combos.

edit: smokescreen not smokecloud
Hi all laugh Glad this thread fills up, i really love this game, and knowing all the crafting recipes is so much important. Running around with 100%+ allres on my 2 melees full enchanted is totally over the top, they might should nerf the enchanting stacking^^ its not fun if everyone gets healt for 50% from any elemental and poison dmg.
Sweetness!

Right now my Ranger is the crafter, and her inventory is PACKED! I'm trying now to just carry items that will let me craft items that a Ranger can use, i.e., arrow shafts, magic arrow heads, bows, leather armor, etc.

I was just getting overwhelmed with all the crap she's been carrying. This list helps a lot.
Great post. Hopefully we can get it stickied.

I do not believe that these are [CR 0]. Rather the skill ranges from CR2 to CR5 depending on the scroll. My Excel file indicates which spells are at which level although they are not the exact name used in the English localization.

Regarding this Once I finish updating the rest of the skill requirements for minimum crafting level ill be adding a breakdown of different spells and skills you can leave based on skill level based from your spreadsheet list.
Thanks for the guide, well written!

Also don't forget to include the following:

Boosted Armor (removes movement penalty, AC remains the same)
Metal Plate + Anvil
Chain Armor + Anvil
Metal Shields + Anvil (bugged now, no bonus applied)

Boosted Weapons (adds +10 melee and elemental damage)
Swords + Wetstone
Axes + Wetstone
Spears/Pole-arms + Wetstone
Daggers + Anvil

I haven't found a way to enhance following:
Hammers
Clubs
Helmets (metal/leather/cloth)
Leather Armor
Robes
Jewlery

Adding elemental dmg with Essences only requires 4 Crafting not 5. Tenebrium however needs 5. Im pretty sure, just realized it because i only have crafting on 4 and use bracers with +1 if i need it. I made the elemental dmg without bracers.

gamelanguage is updating, gonna check it then

I see the recipe for the arrowhead + shaft in ItemCombos.txt, but nothing that yields the arrowhead itself. Maybe oversight, maybe not meant to be crafted. :\
Ok done updating for now until some new recipes are found.

Please let me know if you spot any mistakes as most of this was updated when sleep deprived and could easily be a few!
water, fire, arrowheads?
Great work!
Most iron weapons can be forged back into (large) iron bars when combined with the forge.

Could you maybe add some kind of Crafting FAQ to the first post?

How do I craft stuff?

So far the boni tend to exclusively show up on bracers and belts. Maybe some high level items or uniques can improve these skills as well, but I wouldn't count on it.

Does my level or skill level affect the items?
The quality of some items seems to scale with your level and how many skillpoints you have in crafting / blacksmithing. The crafted items that are not consumable have the same level as your crafter. This does not affect the attribute / skill / resistance boni of crated items, but only their damage + defense rating as well as their price. Blacksmithing gives you a notable boni to the damage and defense rating of the forged items as well.

The attribute boni from rings, amulets and belts stay relevant till the midgame, because they can help you wear high level items, equip self-bearing items (like giving your int 5 warrior a Sarong with +1 int +15% resistance that requires 6 int). These attribute boni are especially important for chars with the Glass Cannon talent, since getting your speed to an odd number will give you +2 additional AP per turn, but at the same time you need to increase you maximum AP through constitution.

Blunt weapons are enhancing with Moonstone.

Leather armor with mobile kitchen and leather armor scraps i think.

Updated by adding the stats you get from the various food recipes, corrected a few more formatting issues and spelling errors.

It might be the next step, I think we are getting close to all recipes that are current in game now and their effects. There are still a few more things to flesh out and confirm however.
One of the crafting books mention improved iron ore, anyone know how to make it? The description kinda weird.

Elemental essence armour boosting:

Magical/rare/legendary metal armour: +25% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary leather armour: +25% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary metal helmet: +25% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary leather cap: +15% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary robes: +20% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary belt: +25% resistancy
Magical/rare/legendary sarong: +15/25% resistancy (varies)

If a magical/rare/legendy already features an elemental resistancy it can be further boosted with a value based on the numbers above -5%.

Example:
A legendary metal armour that already features +15% fire resistancy can be boosted with a fire essence up to +35% (+20% = +25% usual increase per essence -5% reduction of already existing resistancy).

The boosts from the essences (and all boosts) are based of a combination of level and skill, this is why I have not put in raw numbers for them

But yes its great that you can stuck further resistances on items that already have them for a massive boost, good way to max them out!

Hm, I'm not so sure about that...

Boosting a metal armour gave me the same results on level 17 as on level 15. Boosting the same armour with [CR 4] gave me the same results as with [CR 5] as well...
Posted By: PatrickSJ Re: Crafting Recipes & Guide - Part 2 - 08/07/14 04:19 PM
Skill doesn't actually apply as far as I can determine. Instead you have 2 recipes for the same thing, but for different CR/BR. Perhaps the recipe gives a different boost.

However, once you begin crafting the level of the player may be taken into account. I've yet to determine how/when the shift between boost levels occurs (10% vs. 20%).

Probably, but recipe says about ore, not bar. and that tome after one with steel. I think it's about steel too now.

I found some mistakes while creating potions.

I needed CR 1 to craft these potions. Also, both potions had to be of the same strength. At least I verified that mixing a 30% strength potion with a 15% strength potion did not work. 2 15% strength potions worked just fine. Basically, it worked with two minor potions. I have not tested if it works with two medium or strong potions.

Here is a new one that is not in the list. It is specified in Fun With Fluids VI. It gives Constitution: +1.

These two are mixed up. Bone Dust gives Debuff Constitution Potion and Tooth gives Debuff Strength Potion.

Lastly, I think you need a recipe for these potions:

[CR 5] Potion (CON) | Empty Potion Bottle + Tooth
[CR 5] Potion (SPD) | Empty Potion Bottle + Void Essence
[CR 5] Potion (PER) | Empty Potion Bottle + Eye

The reason is that when I tried these I got no message that my crafting level was too low (I am currently at Crafting Level 4), except when I tried to put an Eye into an empty potion bottle. In that case I got the message that my crafting level was too low. I have the recipe " Fun With Fluids VII" that describes this potion, but none of the other recipes.

There are different upgrades possible for CR3, CR4, and CR5. CR5 is needed for the really good potions to be become large versions, e.g., Strong Resist All

Thanks ivra, LordCrash & PatrickSJ for the clarifications and confirmations on some of those recipes.

I have updated the lists.

I'll likely be losing the ability to further edit the initial posts again either later today or early tomorrow so wanted to make sure they as up to date as possible. Instead of creating another thread to keep them updated it will probably be best to move it to the wiki site so we can keep editing without restriction.

At least if new recipes added in game at a later stage this is easy to modify.

Please fix this, Larian. smile

There is a little trick that makes crafting so much more comfortable:
Just throw all the crafting tools together in one backpack. This makes searching for the right tool so much faster and you can also make use of the inventory filter when you are crafting if you open the backpack first. Otherwise if you are trying to combine components from different categories you would have to use the "show all" filter.
Bowstring + Magic Lucky Rabbit Paw does not work.
Magic Lucky Rabbit Paw + Jeweller's Kit Ring Gives only speed

Also Voodoo Doll + Pixie Dust does not require crafting 5, it simply improves the voodoo doll with crafting steps. I can confirm that it worked at crafting 4.

True. It works on all crafting levels, only difference is the piercing damage of the resulting voodoo doll.

This doesn't seem to be correct. I have a crafting rating of 3 and a boosted metal shield still yields a durability buff, not a blocking buff.

Sadly it is probably the card itself that is in error, as the in-game book that describes how to make a crossbow also indicates the crafter should use iron and not steel. So, the in-game recipe matches the in-game recipe book, even if neither match the physical card shown above.

It's possible the recipe was intentionally changed as part of a sanity/balance pass on crafting after the cards were sent off for manufacturing. Like the manual they will eventually become largely obsolete as more changes are made (if that happens).
That is odd. There is only 1 possible outcome according the ItemCombos data. It says "Shield_Small_Blocking_Mod", but I wonder what effects that applies.

Edit:
Shield_Small_Blocking_Mod is mapped to _Blocking_ShieldBoost which lists a multiplier for Blocking, not for durability. This is peculiar
My CR is 3 but my BR is 2. Since it's a metal shield, is it based on Blacksmithing perhaps?

Actually yes I'm pretty sure shield boosts scale with blacksmithing. I remember putting on my blacksmithing gear to get my large +block.
Yeah, I just lowered my Blacksmithing to 1 by removing a bracer and could no longer buff the shield, so that list should say "BR3" instead of "CR3".

Adding essences needs CR 5, adding poison needs only CR 1 ... both add 15% of weapon damage. If you apply multiple elemental enchantments the previous gets replaced. The recipe with Joshua Spice doesn't work.
What weapons did you try with the Joshua Spice?

Same is true for Tenebirum. You can only have either elemental damage or Tenebrium damage if you coat a weapon with the exception of magical weapons with already existing elemental damage. In that case you could add Tenebrium damage to the elemental damage. On the other side, you can't enhance (real, not coated) Tenebrium weapons with elemental damage.

Please fix this, Larian. smile

Well, it's much easier to just change both the ingame recipe and the ingame book description instead of printing new cards. There is imo no reason why the crossbow has to be made with iron intead of steel... wink

Okay, so this is weird. Either a bug or something I didn't know about the KickStarter...

In the Objects data there is LOOT_Kickstarter_Pouch_JoshuaSpice. In the ItemCombos there is LOOT_Pouch_JoshuaSpice. There is no LOOT_Pouch_JoshuaSpice in the Objects data. Given this I'd suspect we need to change the recipe data to use LOOT_Kickstarter_Pouch_JoshuaSpice as that is what you are holding.
[CR 4] Improved Cloth Armor +Sm, Def | Leather Scraps + Any Cloth Armor

Simply does not work

Tryd it with every possible slot, im cr4 but it doestn even show "crafting to low".

Maybe it'a cloth scrapes instead of leather scrapes? Would make sense to me...

quick test please: For the same armor that you cannot apply Leather Scraps could you apply various Essence? Also, could you give me the name of the cloth armor?

Edit: quick test #2 - Craft cloth armor (cloth scraps + normal needle & thread) then add the leather scraps (CR4) or metal scrap (CR5).

Edit2: Robes do not count as "Cloth Armor" for some reason. Pooh. However, I did get it to work with crafted cloth armor. I'm not sure how to visually tell which cloth armor counts as Cloth Armor v. Leather Armor.

Over on this thread there's instructions on how to push a mod onto an existing savegame. I used those steps to make a couple proof of concept recipes in ItemCombos / ItemComboPreviews and they worked in my current save.

Then I went ahead and "fixed" the Joshua Spice recipes based on the bug you pointed out. That did the trick! smile (I went ahead and made a recipe of carrot + pear to produce the spice, so I could test it with what I had on hand.)

So, technically we could fix them - or, well, add a whole bunch of new recipes for stuff that's "missing" - right now without waiting for Larian. But maybe that needs a different thread of its own... wink

That is great news! Do you want to take ownership of such a mod? If you start the thread I'll add the bugs I've observed thus far.
It's going to be a tough sell. For it to work on an existing savegame folks would have to jump through a lot of hoops. (It felt easy to me but then I've done a lot of modding in the past.)

I'd want to involve the community in deciding on what ingredients should be required for the missing recipes too, like some arrowheads.

Anyway, I'll get a thread started on the mods forum, build a little starter mod that just fixes Josh, and post a link here. Hopefully that invokes some corollary of Murphy's Law and Larian releases crafting fixes tomorrow. smile
Alright, here's the mod:

http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=515001

Fixes Josh, and uses earth resistance potion for smokescreen heads, but it should probably be a different reagent for those.
Good job. Here are two minor errors I found:

Actually you can make large ones from small potions with CR 3+ skill, I have been unable to make them from medium potions myself

Just for ease of viewing some people maybe looking for branches and some looking for Woodchips but not reading whole recipe when skimming through, I know ctrl+f is hard to use but working in a helpdesk environment I try to make things as simple as possible smile

Awesome work on this, hope you don't mind but stuck a link to your mod on the opening thread so people can find it easier.

Also Thanks PatrickSJ you continued efforts to find the little issues, troubleshooting and find solutions well smile

Adding essences needs CR 5, adding poison needs only CR 1 ... both add 15% of weapon damage. If you apply multiple elemental enchantments the previous gets replaced. The recipe with Joshua Spice doesn't work.

Have fixed these CR so all essence are 5+, have left Joshua spice in list due to the mod fix by unuroboros

This doesn't seem to be correct. I have a crafting rating of 3 and a boosted metal shield still yields a durability buff, not a blocking buff.

Also edited the this to say BR3 instead of CR2

Is there a way to make crafted stuff magical or better? It seems I always just can make a staff or armor with only +1 to 1 stat (random), what is kinda dissapointing. (lvl 16 only 1 in blacksmith, I will try to get more here since I'm curious on how big it affects dmg and armor buffs)

Quote
[CR 5] + Sm, STR & Sm, DEX | Any Weapon + Tormented Soul
[CR 4] + Sm, PER & Sm, DEX | Bow + Sextant
[CR 5] + Sm, PER & Sm, DEX | Crossbow + Sextant
[CR 5] + Sm, Sneaking | Any Apparel + Void Essence
[CR X] + Immunity to Falling/Slippery | Any Footwear + Nine Inch Nails

Would be so create if there were more of these with other stats.

You need to have level 5 in BR or CR in order to really add extra magical stats to basic crafted items
Posted By: Seven Re: Crafting Recipes & Guide - 10/07/14 10:04 AM
You say "OR". I have 5 in CR but only 1 or 2 in BR with my actual crafter. Do I need both at min 5 for it to have more than 1 magical stat/+2 stats?

I was thinking about sth funny like pixie dust on branch and then craft them together for a magical staff.

You picked the wrong ones to mark as maybe needing a recipe. The ones I meant are:

[CR 5] Potion (SPD) | Empty Potion Bottle + Void Essence
[CR 5] Potion (PER) | Empty Potion Bottle + Eye

But now I am beginning to believe that the recipes are simply wrong. The reason is that there are alternative formulas that give the message that my crafting skill of 4 is too low. The alternative formulas are:

Quote

[CR >4] Potion (?) | Minor Constitution Potion + Bone Dust
[CR >4] Potion (?) | Speed Potion + Sinew
[CR >4] Potion (?) | Minor Perception Potion + Void Essence

These recipes I got from recipe books. I have verified the two first ones. They give a message saying that my crafting skill is too low (it is 4). Since I have not yet found Void Essence I have not been able to test the last one.

That seems very off based on the potion used You would think minor CON potion would add CON not STR and Perception would be PER not INT, when you hit 5 skill and are able to craft these can you confirm that they do indeed provide the mentioned results?

I have updated for now based on the in game books description but does seem a little off

And it appears as soon as I updated that last post I have now lost access to further edit due to the edit timer expiring.

Will need to find another medium we can update these recipes to so we can confirm all and keep them current

True. That is why I edited my post to:
Quote

[CR >4] Potion (?) | Minor Constitution Potion + Bone Dust
[CR >4] Potion (?) | Speed Potion + Sinew
[CR >4] Potion (?) | Minor Perception Potion + Void Essence

Since I have not created them yet I do not know the crafting level required or what they do. Too bad you read my post right away...

Regarding the upgraded damage boost from blacksmithing lvl 5 when upgrading a weapon at a whetstone - there isn't one?

One of my characters has lvl 5 blacksmtih, and the other has 2 (for this test). I dropped a lvl 5 blacksmithed 2hand sword with a damage range of 94-158 on the whet stone and the output was 117-189 (level 11).

On my other character, using an identical crafted weapon, with 2 blacksmtihing the damage range is the same at 117-189.

Also, you cannot boost a crafted weapon that received the damage boost random property from lvl 5 blacksmithing, I'm assuming this is on purpose as to my knowledge no other damage boosts stack or are doubly applicable.

However, the 'broken'(?) whetstone boost stinks.

Small Perception OR Small Dexterity Boost. Random.
I think some of the "metal scraps" listed in the original post recipes are actually supposed to be "scale scraps". From what I can tell, metal scraps upgrade leather armor, while scale scraps are for metal armor.
Posted By: Asherett Re: Crafting Recipes & Guide - 18/07/14 07:53 PM
The scroll creation recipes are wrong, making Blank [Type] Scroll:

[CR 1] Random Elemental Scroll | Blank Paper + Pixie Dust -> will ALWAYS create a blank WITCHCRAFT scroll!

To create earth/air/water/fire you need to combine earth/air/water/fire ESSENCE and a Blank Paper.
Posted By: PatrickSJ Re: Crafting Recipes & Guide - 18/07/14 07:57 PM
They are not wrong, merely outdated. The latest patches changed the recipes, but the original post can no longer be edited.

I did post a link to crafting part 5 ivra, and much apreciation towards both you and angry dave, you guys get a 10 in my books smile My only wish would be if you could separate belts from amulets from rings etc to make it easier on anyone searching ( pretty please with cherry on top? laugh ) , and certain crafting items lack the description of stats they give ( no need for exact one coz that scales to crafting but as a reminder of what gives exactly like the home made weapons)

thats why i would have two tabs , part 3 from dave has some of that info covered while yours has some others. And now i responsed here and the post remains on top hehe... i like to shoot my own foot like that. Heck wish part 5 of ivra's get stickyed or something

As for separating rings, amulets, and belts I am going to do that in version 6. I am also planning on adding more exact stats to potions and home made weapons. I just want to reach level 20 first so that I can test everything before I add a new version.

Your observation is correct. It does not work anymore. Please note that this list is old and will not be maintained anymore. I have taken over after Angry Dave, and the most updated list can be found on top of this sub forum. It is sticky and will be updated in the future if needed. I have removed this formula from the list since it was removed from the game in version 1.0.107.0.
How on earth did you figure all this out?
