Skill crafting is a mechanic that could add a great deal of creativity and diversity to the game. Some of the ideas Larian has released thus far are;

  • Rain+lacerate=blood rain
  • walk in shadows+summon spider=stealth spider
  • Rain+summon grease=grease rain
  • Ect


Here are a few of the ideas I've had for spells and it would be interesting to see what people come up with.


Rain
+ Flare
= Burning Rain
School: Pyrokinetic
Effect: Sets warm or burning status in the area. Melts Ice. Evaporates water

Rain
+ Magical Poison Dart
= Caustic Rain
School: Geomancer
Effect: Sets poison status in the area.

Rain
+ Bitter cold
= Snow
School: Aerotheurge
Effect: Sets chilled status. Freezes water

Whirlwind
+ Lacerate
= Cleave
School: Man at Arms
Effect: Cone Aoe that causes bleeding

Summon Undead
+ Avatar of Fire
= Burning Undead
School: Pyrokinetic
Effect: heals from fire, deals fire+physical dmg (Slashing)

Summon Undead
+ Avatar of Poison
= Caustic Undead
School: Geomancer
Effect: heals from poison, deals poison+physical dmg (crushing)

Summon Undead
+ Avatar of Frost
= Frozen Undead
School: Hydrosophist
Effect: heals from water, deals water+physical dmg (crushing)

Summon Undead
+ Avatar of Storms
= Tempest Undead
School: Aerotheurge
Effect: heals from Air deals Air+physical dmg (piercing)

Summon Undead
+ Ricochet
= Undead Archer
School: Witchcraft
Effect: Skeleton archer

Rage
+ Avatar of Fire
= Volcanic Fury
School: Man at Arms
Effect: Set's player ablaze, adds burning AOE and dmg

Rage
+ Avatar of Poison
= Montain's Fury
School: Man at Arms
Effect: Poisons player, adds knockdown chance on hit

Rage
+ Avatar of Frost
= Frozen Fury
School: Man at Arms
Effect: creates ice surface around player, adds chill on hit

Rage
+ Avatar of Storms
= Storm's Fury
School: Man at Arms
Effect: increase mov speed, release elec aeo on hit (can stun self and allies)

Rage
+ Vampiric Touch
= Bloodlust
School: Man at Arms
Effect: increase damage, reduce hit chance, life gain on hit

Fireball+ice shard = steam blast - pushes tergets in a cone away from the caster

fire elemental+ice elemental = steam bomb

malediction+blessed earth = chaos sphere - everyone is affected by a random effect at the beginning of each one's round

crushing fist+first aid = resurrect

battering ram+thunder jump = schrödinger's ram - cast lightning on a target, everyone struck by electricity is rammed simultaneously (your travelling destination is a random one of these targets)

shackles of pain+invulnerability = There can only be one - the caster and the target do not receive damage except from each other, other spell effects cast on them still apply

blind+burn my eyes = true vision

helping hand+vampiric touch = betrayal - steals ap from an ally over several rounds

summon wolf+smokescreen= gathering nightmare - summons a small shadow creature each round

I can't wait until I can create a spell that electrocutes the flesh off someone and raises them as a zombie-like frankenstein and higher level versions that burn you to the core and raise you as a firery skeleton giant or something.

And if your a undead, maybe he can become your friend, imagine if one of the companions you can get is something you summoned. Like first time you summon a skeleton, and it talks to you, in the middile of combat, depending on how it goes, if you can keep him alive (and it asks you too!) it can join you. You might need to be prepared, and have certain materials and a small quest to make it permanent, but imagine that ! You summon something and it pleads for its life, not wanting to be controlled and sent into harms way ! It' doesn't want to die and wants you to save it... hahah
