Does anyone know whether I can run this on my HP Envy laptop? It has upgraded dual channel 16Gb of ram, but the graphics card, Radeon vega 8, is integrated, and although it should be using 4Gb since I a have 16Gb of ram... it appears it may only use 2 Gb max no matter what I do... I cannot go into Bios to change it, HP locks you out... Unless there is some other software I can run??? Any advice would help I really love the whole Baldur's Gate series, I've played on different consoles even!! But I want to be able to take the game with me on my laptop..... Thanks
I doubt it. Minimum req cards are gtx 780 and r9 280x, both much more powerful gpus than vega 8.
PS:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VL2MT0BJ6pA&ab_channel=AryanSatya here is video running on vega 8. If you can stomach that look i guess you could play it.
So first thank you!! Never thought to try YouTube... LOL, amazing what's on there! I do have 16gb of ram, so technically that should push the integrated card to 4gb of ram. That's where I don't know if it does or not... If it does, I can run it quite well... But if not, I guess it's not so well, but still runs.... I want to buy it through Steam so I can run the game on both my desktop and laptop, and save my progress on Steam....
And I do have a slightly better CPU, but I doubt it makes that much difference... I posted a comment to the YouTube poster, maybe I can get lucky and he's using software to emulate different setups... Thanks by the way!!
The game runs at a playable 25+ FPS at 720p and Very Low preset on:
Pentium G4560 (2c/4t)
8 Gb ram
2 Gb Radeon 550 64 bit
It looks like absolute crap but it runs and is playable.
Does anyone know how to get that overview of the stats and FPS?
