So good to see that we bad half-elf girls have someone to ..... reflect in...
Can only hope Shadowheart has..well, that would be telling..
Gotta love that Larian put a bit of kink in the the romance rope/trope.
Shadow Heart was a bad girl, and needs to be punished?
I thought the same thing when I saw her. I think she has a penchant for this.
As opposed to the clearly dominant Minthara and Lae'zel.
Astarion is also partial to this, most likely
They all need kink options, this is an obvious and good idea / opportunity, I think many people would support it. But let it be optional, so as not to force the player to be a bdsm addict if he wants to play a classic romance
Totally optional and of course should be players choice. And yes, Shadowheart is a bad girl.... Strong, intelligent, but...baaaad

If there was an opportunity to be her Master, I would even replay the game just for this
Stroking your crucifix?? Just a bit of fun, nothing more.

Oh, okay, I still didn't really want to. I'm more worried about the options to kiss Minthara 's boots, serve and worship her in the next topic anyway.
But the OP would be happy with this option, so why not. Shadow Heart looks like a bad but obedient girl.
Exactly
Tolerance is power

I enjoyed the back and forth in 50 Shades of Lae'zel, too.
I enjoyed the back and forth in 50 Shades of Lae'zel, too.
Hah, yass, she is a bit dom but I still still think she's hiding something :DDD Tough as nails and need her by my side.
I enjoyed the back and forth in 50 Shades of Lae'zel, too.
It saddens me that she does not have as many fans as Shadow Heart and Minthara, she is also a good character, it is clear that Larian tried to work on her
If you play a gith you can top her and she'll compliment you after.
I think she will develop a fan base as well. Just might take a bit of time.

She has the most promise, imo, but I'm a sucker for diamond in the rough stories.
Alexa, how do I delete someone else's post?
She defo feels like the one trying to "fit in" albeit temporarilly....... I really like her fxxk you I'm gonna nail these feckers attitude.
Alexa, how do I delete someone else's post?
How about you ignore it and move on????
By the way, 50 shades of Lae'zel is a good name for a new topic.
Make a selection of situations there, such as where she force the tiffling bow to her

This game is 18+ and has all the relevant stuff, including the erotic component. The forum discusses everything related to the game, someone can be annoyed by violence, someone sex, someone racial discrimination of goblins, the best choice is just to ignore what you do not like and discuss what you like.
Our feedback on sex can make the game better for those who like its presence in the game.

Anyway while the versatility of the romance animations is nice and I applaud Larian for not cringing away from it.
I think the best part of a RPG romance is the party banter and drama. That would be much more interesting.
What if a love interest dies because I failed at a story element.

It's in the game, and it could be done better. How can Larian do better if we don't talk about it?
By your logic, we should be discussing sex in real life and porn actresses for this feedback to be important?

Or you could just keep your intolerance in your pocket and pass it by?? My post doesnt break any rules and its relevant to the games development. So....
We are all here to discuss the game and its many intricacies.
This isn't a roleplay forum, I am sure there are other communities you could join to accomplish that goal.
Perhaps we need a separate romance section on the forum, where can we discuss romantic interests and sex in the game without disturbing others? Specific proposals, feedback, no roleplay but also without shame
You fuckers need to get out of the house more...

Yeah, I don't think that an entirely new section of the forum is going to be opened up so that a handful of what appear to be middle-schoolers can vocalize their sexual fantasies about fictional characters.
Weirder things have happened though. Like this entire post, and most of your other posts.
Quit snarking at each other guys. Nothing that's been said so far is against the rules (which doesn't imply any sort of endorsement on my part) but trading insults can result in being uninvited, so less of that, please.

Just because you can doesn't mean that you should.
I find the whole '' neckbeard '' accusations from '' Stahlhengst '' to be a bit silly too, especially considering how quite frankly I'd be willing to bet Erotica is something more women are into than men lol.
People are just having fun, if you don't like it then you don't have to engage with it.
Overall looming creepiness aside, I have to admit I have absolutely no idea of what the hell this thread is talking about.
I mean, I can easily guess the general theme of "fawning over fictional waifu", but I couldn't remember who the hell this Loviatar is supposed to be if my life depended on in and I can't really tell to what particular episode this is referencing to.
quite frankly I'd be willing to bet Erotica is something more women are into than men lol.
Possibly. it doesn't help that the social stigma for acting like a slimy creep can hit way heavier in one direction than the other.

Loviatar - Goddes of pain
https://forgottenrealms.fandom.com/wiki/Loviatarher cleric is in the goblin camp, and can torment the main character with his consent, Shadow Heart reacts ambiguously to this

I don't think that anyone is doing that here tho.
If people were talking about a real person and drooling about them I'd have a very different take here.
The same way that I think drawing fictional characters in a sexual way is very different than drawing a real life person without consent in a sexual way.
Not to mention that people are just discussing the content in the game.
I don't think that any of this makes someone a '' slimy creep ''. I mean I dunno where you're from and your upbringing but it strikes me as a bit puritan, people having fun and discussing or expressing sexual things doesn't make them a creep.
I mean this is just tame in comparison to the usual '' shipping '' communities too lol.
Like wow don't go anywhere near social media if this bothers you haha.

All fine points
I bet the vocal few demonstrating this level of indignant outrage do the same on every other forum where their "values" are challenged or where others express their opinions. I will rise above the childish name calling (speaks volumes about those individuals btw) and respect their opinions while they fail to to the same for everyone else. This is a forum and I will post what I like as I will ALWAYS respect the boundries imposed by the moderators. Dont like it? Too bad.

I suppose it would be nice if there were more, shall we say, exotic options in the romance scenes. Then again this forum sometimes gives me the impression that we have a subset of players immigrated from Loverslab.
To be fair, it doesn't seem to me that you guys are discussing how well the various romance interactions are written, just your fantasies on how would you like to "punish Shadowheart" or "master Lae'zel".
As long as the moderator says its okay with the forum rules it is also fine by me but don't try to hide and accuse others to be intolerant if they find it creepy, because it is.
Try to join a discord voice chat about any videogame and start saying random "oh yeah, I really want to BDSM *charactername*, that noughy girl ;)" and see the reactions.
So yeah, people could just ignore this thread instead of commenting but don't deny the fact that this was not the most adequate place where to post erotic roleplay.
Peace!
'While I admit I'm a huge sucker for romance in RPG, I would really not appreciate it becoming some creepy sex sim, there are other places to live out those fantasies (+ there weill probably be mods for those that think otherwise)
I think Witcher 3 Yen and Triss scenes are a good reference - not too prudish, fits the narrative and definitely doesn't take itself too seriously.
So for me too explicit or interactive sex scenes would be a huge no (Minthara scene is ok IMO).
The priest of Loviatar scene was really more parody than a promise of future bdsm possibilities in my opinion.

I agree on everything
Jeez, why do all the neck-beards living in their Mom's basement have to drag everything down into sleaze? I get that some people want romance arcs. Fine. I don't, but I get that others do. But we have to draw a line somewhere. This sort of kink is really taking things too far. Go jerk off to porn if this is the sort of thing you want, and leave BG3 alone.

I wonder if you've experienced the romance scenes. Lae'zel's is pretty on the nose with dom/sub elements. It's not something just being invented. It's literally part of the game when it comes to interacting with her like that. So that makes me think there's some dissonance or unwillingness to recognize what's there and is why I linked the article I did.
There is a very adult, explicit aspect to this game and Larian isn't being shy. At all. In the slightest. On the contrary, they're being quite bold with it. I think folks like you will have to find a way to reconcile that, but that's not mine or other's responsibility.
I have no problem with people mixing a bit of sex in with their slaughtering and looting if that's how they want to play a game. Sex is, after all, what makes the world go around (well, that and Fat Bottomed Girls) so it would be odd if it never appeared in RPGs.
In a tabletop PnP, or in multiplayer/MMO with other people, you can get as flirty and dirty as you like. In terms of game mechanics, though, I would rather not see anything approaching the disaster that was F.A.T.A.L. A Seduction roll (I think they are best dome with Diplomacy or possibly Deception roll now) is fine to let the GM know that your PC has distracted or charmed the NPC. I don't need to see rolls for position, stamina or satisfaction.
As for discussing sex or game-related fetishes on the General section of the forum. Well, I'm fine with that. Maybe I don't share the kink or feel comfortable with the language or insinuations, but I am not being forced to read the thread. If I get uncomfortable I can always just leave with the click of a button. I did just that over on the 'How Sexy Should Half-Orcs Be?" thread. There was a thread that approached bucket of water territory at times, but if you don't like it, don't read it.
I'm not sure where they want to take it. I do know they're fully motion captured like anything else and are going to be at least minimally interactive during. If it's any consolation, it's pretty obvious what you're getting into when you start going down that road.
For the Minthara one, it's pretty explicit but still very much an approximation. They don't try to be hyper realistic. But, like I mentioned, the themes involved, the dialogue leading up to and during, and the dynamic after aren't restricted at all. It doesn't get into super dirty talk either so it's still classy.
Imo, this is only a problem with lingering American puritanism. There's still a big ick factor around sex happening or being portrayed outside of a very narrow "acceptable" range. I highly doubt they'll go full AO rating wise but it's definitely on the upper end of Mature.

Alright, look, I'm well into my middle years and, at the risk of sounding cliche, I've been around the block a time or two. Nothing being discussed in this thread is something I've never heard before. That said, when people are taking exception to what's being discussed here, it has nothing to do with "American puritanism" or any other bullshit like that and everything to do with what is considered polite discussion in a civil society. MOST people, aren't interested in discussing other people's sex fetishes any more than they want to hear about the boil on your ass you had to have lanced. That's your business and that's where it should stay, forum rules be damned.

I have no problem with adult content, on the contrary, I appreciate it in a videogame since it helps portraiting things more realistically. I was only saying that it's not correct to accuse people of being "bigots", "puritans", "intolerants" etc just because they find cringe to see people discussing their sexual fantasies on the general section of a videogame forum.
Because, as I said, you people weren't discussing technical or artistic aspects of the romance, just read the first 4 posts of this thread.
As I mentioned before, I have no problem with this thread personally, the things that scandalise me are others, I just felt the need to point out that one doesn't need to be a bigot to find this conversation out of place.
I think folks like you will have to find a way to reconcile that, but that's not mine or other's responsibility.
Please, do not presume to know me or what should be good for me. I never address anyone personally, I just "defended" people being called intolerant for no real reason, at least in my opinion.
Thanks
Ohhh okay. The picture in the wiki explains everything
I think op should rename the theme to "More BDSM in the game". It will be immediately clear what he meant, and only those who are really interested in discussing this will enter the topic.
Perhaps the title of the topic and the author's shyness became the reason that he was accused before.
If you want to see Shadow Heart a bit submissive masochistic, all the more optional - don't be shy.
This is good feedback. The main thing is not to write in detail your fantasies, how would you punish her, Larian will come up with something themselves if they see the players' interest (and she is)
I also want to see her as bit optional masochistic as Minthara/Lae'zel the dominatrix. Given their nature and type, this is not surprising and is not something out of the ordinary
That's your business and that's where it should stay, forum rules be damned.
That's not your decision; nor are you the arbiter of what is polite, civil or what "most people" think. This topic may not be my cup of tea so I wouldn't otherwise be engaging with it. I suggest you do likewise.

Or what? You'll ban me? All I did was state my opinion the same as everyone else did. Why is my opinion less valid than anyone else's?
If the OP and other like minded people don't want any criticism of what they are saying then perhaps they shouldn't post things where everyone can read it.
Or what? You'll ban me? All I did was state my opinion the same as everyone else did. Why is my opinion less valid than anyone else's?
Few people get banned and when they do it's regardless of the subject matter, i.e. usually for personal insults or for being intentionally disruptive. Where one draws the line is arguably subjective, but suggesting that people shouldn't talk about something while defending one's own right to do so isn't a good look.
Why is this thread still going? What is even the point of this thread?

To discuss an aspect of the game that apparently makes people uncomfortable. I don't think that was the OP's intent. It wasn't mine, but I don't plan on censoring myself, for one. I'll be respectful as has been reinforced by mod staff, but that's not because of subject matter. That's just because it's good manners.
Again, these themes and content are literally in the game. It's not like this is fan fiction. If that weren't there case, I would be more sympathetic to the objections here. I might object myself. I would assume if it's part of the game then the game forums is the place to talk about it, period.
I will confess to being amused at the point I made about the acceptable way to talk about sex being very narrow and the responses to that proving my point despite protesting against it, but I'll digress there. What I won't digress from is having an open discussion. I'm resistant to letting it die just because some people want to be bullies and immature.
Op here, I started the topic because I was surprised when I came across the cult of Loviatar and one of its priests all set up and ready to expand on a few texts I had found in the village pillaged by the Gobbo's. Larian very clearly wanted to explore this aspect of sexuality and I applaud them for it just as I applaud their descision to include exploration of a diverse and appropriate variety of adult themes. This is progress, this is gaming in the 21st century. The game clearly states it explores not only the rich and engrossing world of DnD, but also the rich and diverse nature of contact between people and others. Again, I applaud this. That a few malcontents (probably Qanons and flatearthers) have chosen to represent themselves as narrow minded bigots only helps to reinforce the message that we see all through the fantasy worlds that we love. Tolerance, respect, freedom of speech and the desire to nail bigots into the ground.
Why is this post still going? No other reason now than to rub into the faces of those bigots and say that we will not be silenced by narrow minds and tiny brains. Dont like the threads subject? Dont click on it. That said, I really wish he hadnt used a mace...I mean, a mace???
I always found it strange that its okay to discuss someone bashing someone's head in, eating brains, killing characters for being mean to your protagonist (how many people killed Astarion or Sebille here because of their introductory scenes?), but discussing sexual topics is a taboo? If anything the latter is way more peaceful and requires far less gore and wanton slaughter than the former. *shrug*
I very much prefer the drama aspect to sex sim as well, but its cool that the content exists and those that like it can talk about it openly and offer suggestions.

I don't know I think if someone was on the forums describing how intimately he wanted to stab and kill people with all the gorey details... People would be equally concerned.

Seriously? This is ok but what I said merited a moderator response? SMH...
I don't know I think if someone was on the forums describing how intimately he wanted to stab and kill people with all the gorey details... People would be equally concerned.
True. But from what I can see from the thread, aside from the semi suggestive first post we haven't really been graced with graphic details on what they'd like to do to SH or Lae either (probably for the best haha). I don't really see the difference between this and expressing the desire in killing any of the party members for the lulz.
Alright, multiple warnings and implications have been made. This thread has yet to see any actual constructive entries for a good page and a half at the least.
Since all anyone seem interested in doing is to jab at eachother for what they should and shouldn't do, or resort to snark, I deem it best to close this. Besides, it's been stated that the only reason for this thread to be dragged on is of an unproductive nature. I'm sure we can find better ways in expressing positive ideals without stopping to similar levels of those we imply to be in the wrong.
Please be better in the future.
