I have been noticing that the game is doing a strange then, when i minimize or crash i see a second, past version of the game almost as if the game is running a second time in the background, however does not seem to be listed in the task manager or windows stack (ie when you have multiple instances of the same program stacked together on the task bar)

I am wondering if this is a known issue, or a potential cause for leaks, etc.

just a little update here iv been able to confirm on closing of the game the game is how how running or holding a snapshot of the location a save is done in. I don't know if this is impacting performance, but I suspect it is.

I get the same thing all the time when alt-tabbing away from the screen while waiting for a load. The graphics already clearly run on screen layering, e.g., things still run 'under' the Esc screen when you use the Esc key. So it's probably just a lower layer showing for a bit. Why it's an older screen, I don't have a good guess for.
