I just had to roll Nat 20 five times in a row ... to resist my urge to throw Marina in the abysss myself. -_-
Its ICNREDIBLY anoying!


I still dont understand why cant we change Race for our hirelings. frown
Lets us play Githyanki as racist as they trully are! frown

Yes, i admit i didnt fight, i realized too late that i didnt made any preparation, so i was checking my options and planning my approach ...
Aka, used "turn-based" mode as much as possible. laugh

But since the world should be "stopped" while your "turn-based" mode is on ... i believe that NPCs should SHUT THE F**K UP! During that time. laugh

I’ve brought this up elsewhere a bunch of times, but I’ll say it again: this combat log behaviour is unacceptable.

I think the new dynamic sound mixing has a lot to do with the fact that Larian’s NPCs never stop looping lines. This problem sorely needs to be addressed with the combat log as well.

It may be a sign that things aren’t fully settled with the combat system, so it would be too early to give that kind of polish. Still, I hope the launch version deals with this serious issue (especially given how reactions work).

Combat log spamming is problem of itself ...
To me the most anoying part was that i had to listen to that b*tch over and over.

Really made me thinking about shooting the cage down myself. -_-

Thats why i want NPCs to respect that in Turn-Based world, only 6 seconds happens, and while its not their turn they are frozen in time > and therefore SILENT! laugh

They just need to separate PC/NPC chat from Combat chat.

I would like this done for most conversation during cutscene at least.. not the cutscene conversation im talking about looping nearby conversations. Like the Tiefling siblings arguing about staying or going to baldur's gate....and the goblins in the camp..your trying to have a conversation and they just say the same things over and over.

I mean… the thread title mentions combat and you showed a picture of the combat log. I hope you can see how your message might have been misunderstood.

Your complaint shows the limits of using dynamic sound mixing to solve the looping voice problem. It works well with vendors, it’s middling for cutscenes as ExarchofJustice points out, it’s no use when you’re trying to focus on something next to a chatty NPC.

The message is pretty crystal clear if you put half an effort into trying to understand it, Flooter. Basically a situation of 'Hear ye, hear ye!' in Reaper's Coast market of Dos2, voice barks as Larian calls them - Snippets of voice lines an NPC shouts on certain intervals.
