Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Help Tips & Tricks Missing Spectator?

In previous playthroughs, even if I didn't mention the chest after rescuing the Zhentarim fighting the gnolls (Find the Missing Shipment quest), there was a spectator in the cave when I went back. This time, nothing is there. Is that deliberate/consistent for patch 8?

I have personally never seen the spectator in that cave. Is it possible you somehow destroyed the chest the flask was it and released it?

Edit: Now I kinda wanna try stealth shooting that chest from the back end of the cave and see if I can release the spectator before even triggering the Flind scene.

he only shows up if you keep the chest + open\ destroy it... assuming you do that then yes he is still there

On more than one earlier run I rescued the Zhentarim, didn't ask about the chest (so I could get in good with their merchant), and the Spectator still showed up in the cave. So either it was set wrong at least twice in earlier builds or it is set wrong now. Or glitch, as always.
