The game was running great in fsaa 3 no fog and 1024 x 768 (too blind to run at 1600 x 1200). I forgot to plug power supply into notebook and it went into hibernation mode when the battery got low. After I plugged in the AC the game is now in 1600 x 1200 with fsaa at 0. Rerunning the configuration does not seem to help. It will not reset. Any ideas on how to get the configuration to reset?

can u set the FSAA levels in the game? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

as for the resolution, maybe u can try to look for the config file in <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> folder on your hard drive. i forgot the file extension but i know the file is called config. open it with notepad & see from there the configurations & settings for the game.

wish i know more but i don't have my <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> yet. maybe raze can help u out.

I though there was a cosmetic glitch with the configuration program, where it always displayed a FSAA mode of zero when started, but it did save the setting properly. There is a line in the config.div file listing the mode.

Unless they fixed this limitation, screenshots are not displayed in the load/save panes when FSAA is enabled, so you could also check whether it enabled by quick saving and then opening the load pane.

Sorry, the configuration file says 1024 x 768 and fsaa 3 but when the game starts it is now (guessing about the 1600x 1200 could be using my 1920 x 1200) 1600x1200 with fsaa 0. It seems like it is ignoring the configuration file.

Renaming the config.div and slashed.cfg files in the Beyond Divinity folder should trigger the game to bring up the configuration program again, and hopefully reset the settings when you run the test again.

Did you install the latest patch? If that is updating something involved in this problem, maybe it would help fixing it. As a last resort, backing up the saved game folders and doing a clean install + patch should work.

Thanks for trying. Kind of strange after a reinstall and reinstall and reboot of all the patches, I was expecting to get the config screen, but it went directly into the game, like it was already setup. Any idea what registry entries to look for that may not have been cleaned up with the uninstall? I deleted everything I know to delete. Even cleaned up all registry entries with divinity in them. I even tried changing the config setings to 800 x 600 and it is still showing as 1600n x 1200. Guess I may never get to finish the game <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> 1600 x 1200 is just way too small.

The only registry entry should be 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\LarianStudios\BeyondDivinity' and there is no configuration information there, just install path, language and game version.

Did you delete any remaining files (except in the savegame folder) in the Beyond Divinity folder after uninstalling?

This could be a problem with DirectX. Click on Start | Run, type in dxdiag and hit enter, then see if it reports any problems.

Kind of why I gave up. Deleted all files and folders including save games, deleted about 6 registry entries that were still hanging around after uninstall, reinstalled, and checked direct x. The configuration program still seems to be picking the information up from somewhere other than the screen. If I could delete the hibernation file I would try that but xp even in safe mode will not let me delete the file. Also deleted all entries in the prefetch directory (did not help). All resolutions are 1600 x 1200 and are a little square in the middle of the screen about 5 inches by 5 inches.

Thanks for trying

It seems when the PC went into hibernate the conflict between the games resolution and my system settings caused issues with some of the system settings. I reset all of the system settings to the default settings and things went back to normal. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
