That content was very good, showed how the common folks are completely powerless even to a dying mindflayer...

I don't understand why you removed it.

Yeah, it's puzzling.
The first time they removed it I thought it was just to fix/rework the scene a bit.
No idea why they scrapped it entirely.

Party control in Baldur's Gate 3 is a complete mess that begs to be addressed. SAY NO TO THE TOILET CHAIN

This isnt the only instances of "removing content for no reason" from the EA, but it certainly sticks out.

fixing something takes time

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.
Yoda: That is why you failed.

Not sure, but after seeing how many little things are broken, it seems odd that they chose that little scene to remove completely of all things.

I can only guess due to people being uncomfortable about killing innocents under the sway of the Mind Flayer. Only reason I can think of. It's a very odd removal.

t's strange, because along with the removal of the thralls on the prologue ship, suddenly the Mindflayer's mindcontrol abilities aren't really overtly on display till much later on. That and the removal of the 'ceremorphosis' dream you in the beginning and you are missing a lot of the early game EA characterization of the threat the mindflayers pose in Toril.

Larian said that the act 1 will be enriched with little more than 30% of the content in released version, but from all I saw the 30% is not enrichment but modifying.
