I have yet to find any item that has more than 2 charm slots and I'm in Act 4. Earlier in Act 2 I found a good two-handed and one-handed sword. Only one charm slot between the two of them. I haven't found a better sword since. My armor is OK I guess, but nothing great.

My hero has 117 luck points and DK has 55. I find a lot of decent rings and pendants (level 5 and 6 and on rare occasions level 7) but that's about it.

What are some of the best items that you have found? How high are your luck stats?

I have found a sapphire rabbit amulet in act2, with three slots. (sapphire or rabbit, could be two different ones.) But at least now you know there are equipments with more charms available. I pickpocketed this amulet from an merchant Imp in the Imp village. You can also buy the amulet.

Enter battlefield. Check merchant inventory. Leave battlefield. Enter battlefield. Check merchant inventory. Repeat until you see what you want or give up on it ever being there - sometimes the merchants have very nice stuff especially in act 4.

Yesterday i bought a sword for 12000 gold and an axe for the same price.
They had the Int, agil, con, str 2 and few resistances but no charmies but did a nice bit of damadge 300 and 280 with lv 8 sharpen (210 and 180 normal). This is in act II battle field.

So it's still ok i supose, it is true that i only have one or two items with 2 slots, thats all.

xd

Its mostly really luck, but what I noticed is when I bought my eq from a NPC I mostly ended up looking like a farmer of some sort (Had best stats etc~), lol.

My wiz got 2 rings that had +2 to a bunch of stats (int on both), +10 to vit/mana and one of them had +200 stam. And they were both 3 slot (which I filled with red and blue iceri (mana) charms). This was late act I. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Just spent like 15mins going in and out of the BF checking the shops. Don't think luck (the stat) has anything to do with what merchants sell tho, I had like 10 luck on my hero and 0 on my DK. Think luck is just for monster/chest drops.

i'm at the very end of act 2
hero with luck 122 - every single item has +10 luck.

it all started with getting a lucky cap +12 right at the very beginning of act1

anyways i have approximately 10 different items with two slots and 5+ with 3 or 4 slots. most of them are acutally pretty cool even without the slots.
btw i do do in and outs very often from the battlefields. also my hero with high luck is always the leader and always opens chests. items ai find are atmost level 6. (thru act 2)

also i noticed that at the very end of act 2 - holy water - once only the fat woman had it and once all five merchants had it.

haven't found anything above 4 free slots.

For luck and item drops. It's decided by your hero and DKs average luck. So doesn't matter who opens the chest or kills the monster. Some larian dude posted this was how it worked the other day.

Can you equip the luck charms just prior to opening a chest and have it make a difference? I stopped wearing all the luck things because I wanted some other charms more - like stamina.

I had my main character equipped with a bunch of luck and saw no difference in what I was getting. But maybe I didn't have the luck high enough - +10 shoes, +10 belt, etc.

Do you put points into luck? I never have. Perhaps I should.

I put 6 points into my luck skill, that's when I started finding items with luck stats. So now I just use equipment to boost my luck.

BTW, it sounds like I'm doing OK compared with everyone else. I thought I might be missing out on items with 5 or 6 charm slots, but it doesn't sound like they exist.

I've played thru act 2 twice. Once with a 1h slasher with everything +5/10 luck, and once with a wiz with like 10 luck total (from surv mostly). Didn't see much difference (actually my wiz got a few 3 slot items while my 1h slasher didn't get any higher then 2). It's probably like D2 magic find, you need a whole lot for it to do any good.

well, not to be braggy or nething but luck has nothing to do with it. My first time playing still and i'm in act 2 still. Way back in a1, I had no luck and i found a Owl's Citadel Armor with +4 armor -4%speed/-3%accuracy/-4%(i dont remember the last one(began with I i think)+1 str and +4 charm slots. sold for 9778 gold. After that i started finding better items but it just goes to show you that a 300% chance isnt any better than a 0% chance. Taken into point goes without saying to those who play Diablo2 and know what im talking about. Wear crappy items and take the pity route (merchants in any game often take pity) and the merchants will most likely fork it all over without question.

I just bought armor with 4 lots. That's the only four slots I've seen. I'm in Act 4 too.

I'm now trying to get enough money to buy 4 Yits to go in it. In addition I have three more Yit slots to fill in an amulet for my DK. I have some powerful non slotted items too. I don't know if even with 4 yits, the 4 slot armor will measure up. It hasn't got much else going for it except slots.

I hope I get the gold to fill the slots before the game is over. Act 3 was a real rip off for gold, with all those unsellable oaks and quivers.

Personally, I like older games better where when you found a treasure, it was a treasure. You didn't have to weigh +2 str against +1 int and +1 const....

ring with +15 luck and 4 slots
boot, belt, spear, halbred(or something like it), bow, etc.: 4 slots each
rings with 3 slots (6 rings with various combinations - nothing too special)
gloves with +15 luck and 3 slots.
shoes with +15 luck and 3 slots
necklace with +15 luck, +3 to 4 major attributes (strength, intelligence, agility, etc) and 3 slots.
shield with 2 slots and +3 intelligence.

weapons - two really cool weapons -
one after sharpening has 170-260 (approx.) damage and 3 slots and loas of +3's and some mana(+30).
have another similar attributes + 3 slots axe, damage of 200-300 range <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

however both are two handed.

also found arrows with
+15 luck
+1x% accuracy
+x constitution
when i buy, nothing shows up - they just disappear.
