Try this... at the final confrontation run like hell to the stairs leading out of the dungeon, but make sure chicken feet is right behind you... then go back into the dungeon and you'll find that chicken feet just stands there dumbfounded... use your elemental hail or similar to toast him without a scratch to your character...

It seems to work with the black ring members too. If you get them out of the central room they seem more easy to beat. To me anyway...

Heh, run from Josephina, and she'll get her chance to cast spells. No thanks.

Besides, the other Black Ring members and the Demon of Lies itself are already easy enough, anyway. I understand that running out of their rooms might give you an advantage, though, because you'll have more mobility. (If you're patient enough to lure them out of their mazes, which, I imagine, would take quite a while.)

I didn't cared at all if she casted spells or not.
Josephina was the most easy one to beat in my games.
You said yourself that they're very easy to beat. The one or two times she cast hellspikes before you are out doesn't hurt that much.
