if you took melee skills, which did you take and why? one handed or two? was it the way you saw your character or another reason?

i'm very curious. i'm not into power characters, but i'm suffering mightily over what to do with my dk. he's a warrior type. one thing i do have to do is quit sharpening weapons until his freaking dex gets higher. i've hosed myself out of two decent swords so far playing with that...

Two handed. I don't need shields.

I boosted his accuracy to level 10 and his damage to level 10. Unbeateble. Never misses, always does in the 80-150 range.

it's been argued may times now, always ending in a stalemate.
but my vote goes to onehanded with shield, hands down.
for the small amount of reduced damage, i gain higher blocking, armor and 20 points in an attribute or skill (shield with 4 charm slots and gold charms). and this doesn't even count the attributes inherently attached to the shield to begin with (resists, attributes, skills).

oh, i wasn't trying to get a definitive answer - i've played enough rpgs to know there aren't any for hair color, much less weapon specialization. i was just interested in why people took certain ones. thanks for the answers though! much appreciated.

and i save pretty constantly. but every time i don't.....

I always use a shield so that I can utilize the extra charm slots in a good shield if I can find one. A shield not only provides you with extra protection. It also can provide you with higher stats <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" /> Hi,

Thanks for putting that out to the forum. I just learnt something I didn't know. I've been playing 2 handed ( I always have in RPG's) I'm going to go over to one handed with a shield as soon as I come a cross good ones. I just sold a good shield and sword before I came on. Oh well <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohh.gif" alt="" />

Thanks,

Shelli
