in the imp village when you recieve the quest for finding the cure for the sick! do not follow first this quest until you finished all other quests or you will miss many other quests!!!

1-ive recieved all quests from the imp village!
2-head to clear randomly the southeast area of the imp village FIRST!!!!
And found a entrance..found the alchemist guy here he gave me another quest..found the 3 herbs for the cure, turned back to the alchemist guy..he told me to go to the village through a tunnel who leads to the shamans chambers..
3-killed the shaman
4-the necromancer summoned me again and found the crystal fragment!
5-he summoned me back to the dungeons in the imp village..
6-The imp (tex...the one who you meet in act 1) says Samuel was in the village and killed all imps!!!!!
7-ALL OTHER QUESTS GONE!!!!!!SCREWED UP..

after you return the 3 herbs to the alchemist you can't turn back (cinematics dont allow you to turn back)

WTF

i simple followed a simple way but couldnt return..i just tried to find the 3 herbs for the cure first and the Plot leaded me to a way with no return..i tried to escape and return to the imp village so that i can finish my other quests but the main plot doesnt allowed me..
when i tracked the 2nd herb for the cure i found me locked in a dungeon and there was just a crystal fragment..i know if i touch the stone the necromancer will summon me and after i returned the herbs for the alchemist there was no return anymore!!!! now the whole imp village is dead! and my quests screwed up

I know the feeling. I played through the first act receiving practically no quests, because I'd forgotten to change the dress of my heroin... It made the first act pretty boring.

I think it's a poor decision to make things like this possible: as a designer you go through all the work of creating a huge amount of quests, but you design the game like this that you "risk" a player not to see half of them...? Yeah, it's nice to get a quest you didn't get before when you replay a game, but I'm not a fan of the idea that you're bound to screw up the first time, and have to play the game twice to be able to play it the way it was meant to...

Same thing with the acts: if you want to put in acts, at least "announce" it when a certain action will lead to the next act! Or better: "announce" every action that will lead to losing a number of quests.
With "announcing" I mean, e.g. clear hints in the story/scenery, options in dialogues, things like that.

If you have a save before talking to the alchemist and giving him the 3 ingredients, you can reload and do the other quests first.

It is fairly clear that this is a main plot quest (the chieftain's son says he will tell you how to get to the Raanaar temple if you find a cure for the plague). However, there is not much warning that the plot will turn linear. He does ask if you are ready to go or not, which indicates something's up, though.

""He does ask if you are ready to go or not, which indicates something's up, though. ""

yes an Imp ask it, but he ask it after the whole village is dead and the imp is the one who you meet in act 1

yes you did realize, following this quest lead somewhere important! but you cant realize that you cant stop

i thought something else will happen..something like;
-you give the herbs and turn back to the village and everybody are healed and are grateful to you! (you complete your other quests) and when you go and speak to the chieftains lad you go further )...

but i think this way is better and give you more fun! being suprised, to get angry, asking Why Why Why!!! hitting the monitor with your head, looking around like dumb zombies when you realize what youve just done..yelling some light curses to larians

One point. I did as you did, and yes, I did miss out on completing a few quests, but most of the others were still viable. I chose to wait when asked if ready to go and when I went to all the areas I hadn't completed, the quests were still active. Even the Hero going back to his wife still worked. So yes, bad design decisions, but not fatal.

If God said it, then that settles it!!

After making the cure, the alchemist asks if you are ready to head to the village to test it. The village is not wiped out until after you go to the Shaman's cave and he teleports you away.

The DK could have suggested taking care of any unfinished business with the imps first, in case the alchemist made things worse. The alchemist could have warned that if the cure failed you would be shunned by the imps, assuming you were not arrested as his accomplices.

Luckily for me, when I did the cure illness quest first (I couldn't stand being around all those sneezing and sniffing imps and I managed to go to the correct Alchemist/Shaman woods first) I couldn't kill the Shaman, so I reloaded a game prior to going in the place with the fragment, to see if some additional experience would help ... and found all the other quests! Okay, I lost a few hours game play, but I completed those other quests ... and got the teleporter stones, so it was worth it.

Agree - this is one of the ealier quests that should be left till last.

First time round I missed Autoflix (or whoever) so I'd stashed the Alchemist's herbs in the battlefield [then forgot and couldn't find them for ages - dumb eh?] so got through OK eventually.

Should be some indication though that this _may_ mean missing out on some quests/items from the omnipresent DK - but then if we start down that route...
