You simply put a crystal into a bag - and if you find one with a larger value - you exchange by drag&drop. You can't combine - let's say - 2 small air crystals into one medium sized one.
I took the smaller one out into my inventory (via drag) and put in a larger one - or depending on my enemies, put in a different crystal.

No skill required.

The crystal bag is a small bag to take up crystals. These crystals help to raise your resistances.

You can't "make" charms - you find/buy them and put them into your items with a charm quality. And these charms have various effects on your stats or durability of your equipment.
Kiya
Crystals and their resistance values:
small 2
medium 4
large 6
larger 8
extra large 12

for the resistances in: Air, Bone, Earth, Fire, Poison, Shadow, Water, Spiritual - depending on which crystal you have put into the bag. You can take up a maximum of 5 - either 5 different, or even several of the same resistance.

Charm value list, made by Raze, click here please

and here a pic link, how to put charms into your equipment. No skill required for either procedure => charms or crystals.

As Kiya says, it's a way to raise your resistances.

Basically it's just a bit of role-play fun as the bag doesn't hold very much. In practice, the resistances you gain will make almost no noticeable difference to how the fights pan out as the numbers are too small. I could never see any difference if I dropped the bag and tried a fight without it.

I guess if you were really obsessive you could try and collect enough crystals to fill your bag with one type, and swap them around to suit whatever monster you were fighting.... But it's not necessary. More a bit of extra fun than something that requires you worry too much about whether you've got the right crystals, right combinations, etc.

With Large crystals its defently good, especially getting 5 large of everything! WHatever monster you are attacking, do that!

or, you could use item duplication, duplicate alot of holy water and crystals, boost skills, and then appreciate the small extra bonus the extra large crystals give you, but again, they are a moot point. once the resistance gets high enough, the different attack types start doing no damage.
