...Yoo... Where are my battlefield keys gone!??
I just escaped the citadel and im outside now, so i find myself overencumbered with junk, so i decide to go to the battlefields for some trading..

...No keys, gone...all gone.. *Nothing* telling me either that that is normal.. (you know, those nice things telling you what is what in the beginning of the game, i mean, wouldnt it be a good idea to tell the user that the battlefields are temporarly unavailable?!)

Need help folks, please, when do i get my keys back? If it is normal for this to happen, is there a trader around in this fiery world?

Thanks.

Act change means BF key change as well....
you will lose ALL keys from the previous Act when you advance to the next Act...

... now you have to find the keys for Act II BattleFields...new doors, new keys...

I had the same surprise.
I collect the battlefields keys but i don't go in the BF.
At the beginning of a new act the old keys are gone.
I am not sure that you can't go in the battlefields without the keys.
Did you try to go in the battlefields ?

When you leave an act, you lose all your keys, which means that you have to find them in the new act. However, there is a way to get around that. Place a chest in your inventory. You can put whatever you want in it to save items without having to carry them all around with you. I set the chest down in the town in the battlefields. I stored several swords and armor that I wasn't able to use yet for lack of strength or agility. I also stored all my extra crystals, charms, books and all my battlefield keys there. Before going to the next act, I placed the chest back into my inventory. When I got to Act 3, all the stuff, including my battlefield keys were still in the chest. When I clicked on the keys, all the battlefield dungeons were available for Act 3.

As other have said, it all resets from act to act.

And you don't need to pick up the battlefield keys and keep them in your inventory anyway. Just finding them and clicking on them to read the description is enough. (Unless of course you want to use Fire's very clever and sneaky trick to use the old keys for the new dungeons. Personally, I rather enjoyed the challenge of finding the new keys though.)

Thanks for the replies people, and that's a nifty trick Fire.. Don't think i'll use it though (maybe only to store goodies but not the keys).

I find it a shame though, i had it al planned in my head, "after i get out of this meanie demon place, ill have me some of that battlefield exploring..", i felt positivly *robbed* when i didnt find my keys! ...oh well..

They *could* have implanted something like:
"You are leaving Act I, do u wish to abandon your progress in BF 1?"
HHHMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm....... *such a shame*
Next time the game plays a movie, ill know that i've just lost my BF!!!!

Putting that aside, i think the game is entertaining to play..

Luckily (or the game saw i had none), after slaying some mutant monster, a key was spawned.. which lead, to my dissapointment, but relieved a bit i found one, to a new BF.. I suppose that means im in Act II? Am i reading over it, or am i supposed to *feel* im in another Act? ...oh i cant get used to it... ACT.. why call it Act's??? Why have them at all?? Why not like DD, just one complete thing.. no losing things like quests and items.
Another thing, i havent come across them yet but, what in the name of whoever are *dolls*??!? They are to summon creatures, but WHY call em like THAT!?!
...dolls... I wont be holding a ba*bie doll will i?

...Anyways....

PS: Do monsters in the BF get respawned when u reenter? Coz the rate im going, there will be none left in the game!!

I'm not sure if they do, but the 2nd BF is ALOT larger. 6 dungeons, hard to find them.

No, you always find the BF key in that creature.

I wish it was that seamless, only different areas thing too.

The form the summoning doll is in when it is not summouned is a doll!

Er, Act, like a play. I guess.

Hey, BTW, welcome to the forums! A bit late though.

And an awesome name.

lol, thanks, i'll take that as a compliment!

So eh.. the doll right? It's the name/idea of Larian to come up with that doll system that particularily puts me off really! ...Pardon me but im actually dutch, and i've learned that doll means.. well, dolls girls play with.. now i must say i was *instantly* worried when i read that *dolls* were in the game...

So you are probably asking, how would i name them then?
..I have *no* idea, all i can say is.. I would call them ANYTHING BUT a doll!
Maybe a summon spell would have been my idea..

Oh and the 1 skill point per level (and 2 per 5 level) is so not on!
..SOOOOooo slow progress it stressed me! I really wonder how pathetic my char's would be a level 250!!!
I made my own skill point rules i'll have you know!
...Or i wouldnt have made it past those Death Knight patrols without sneaking!
So much more fun.

...Gutted that there is a limit on skill slots though.. that really suc*s!
Coz i like to go exploring on my own, leave that sarcastic tin can behind! lol

Just curious... Does everybody else loose all keys (I don't know about BF keys, since I never pick them up in the first place, but normal keys?).
I never lost a key during an act change. And I SHOULD be loosing them, since those keys I didn't use in the previous act seem to enable me to open chests/doors in the next act without the proper key...

You keep normal keys, if you miss the chest/door via act change - only the BF keys are reset (newer versions).

i'd be careful attempting this when moving on to the aftergame bf. i used the item duplication method Raze mentioned in another post on these forums to bring them to the aftergame bf's just for kicks, and then was experimenting with ways to use them for shortening trips to and from dungeons &/or merchants. the result of bringing something somewhere it was not meant to be was a broken quest log, making almost all future bf quests unresolvable. basically only the first one on the list could still be solved, but the subsequent ones on the list weren't static, and would toggle quest goal/item and quest giver, changing them, every time you clicked the "jump to recent flagged quest button (the little push pin)", making them unresolvable . thankfully i still had a previous save as i had the foresight to create one before experimenting.

also, if you are thinking about using this method to give yourself the pyramids, don't bother unless you want nifty useless trinkets to display in your rift-realm-room-chamber-area-place-location-thingy.
they don't work. but it is a good way to duplicate cash, charms, crystals, and alchemy plants. i wouldn't advise messing with weapons & armor, BF keys (especially not those), or the crystal bag (strange things happen to your resistances, and the crystals that are in the bag, that i really don't feel like going into here).

EDIT

almost forgot the best duplication use: holy water. .:heh:.
