I saw the list of the charms (which is a great help), but I was wondering if you need an enchant weapon skill like in DD?

nope, you dont need any skill to upgrade your equipment with charms...you just need items with charm quality and some charms of course.. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

After DD (IMO) only go for 'Yits' (posted elsewhere) as all else can retrict you too much later in the game. Use the others as trading tokens for 'Yits'

Unlike DD have only ever found items with three charm slots (in DD I had a stunning ring with five) and most of the items to be charmed are in the earlier Acts so have found it worth while to save these (you can always sell them in later acts) till I have found/bought enough useful 'Yits'.

PS - be careful though trading 'Yits' later in the game for gold can be very tedious (few, if any, merchants have the gold for a whole Yit) so it means buying and selling various odd items in order to convert the unneeded Yits into cash.

I don't know about five, but there are certainly items with four charm slots.
I have a rather nice shield with four slots...

I used to be snow white, but I drifted... Check out my Beyond Divinity fansite
