Will information reguarding Divine Divinity II be available soon?

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those I had to kill, because they pissed me off.

Might take a while now. It's still in dwevelopment (of course).

You can find some bits yourself if you use the forum's Search Engine and use "Divinity 2" as a search criterium.

All I know is that it'll be 3D and with Multiplayer. And that it'll take some tztime.

Uh... that was a very short reply

Regarding D2: We can't comment on this yet, hopefully you understand this.

For once I would like to hear a developer say.

We updated our site. it's green now, And ow yeah ² is done and in the stores since yesterday blabla , But realy it's a nice new green look now.

You know the "unexpected aunounce and release yesterday" move. A classic and never fails move.

Wow! The project isn't going THAT badly is it??

That sort of curt reply from a game developer insider does nothing to keep interest going among fans. Indeed, it's counter-productive (given the rocky history of game development) and conjures up visions of stress in the team, engines that won't come into shape, creative fights about content and direction, over-run deadlines, etc.

It's a considerable while now since DD2 was first promised on these forums. Surely there's SOMETHING positive or intriguing that Larian can tell the fans of DD1 and keep our interest alive?

One year. It is not so long.

14. How far are you with the development of Divinity 2?

Divinity 2 won't be ready before the 4th quarter of 2005, or perhaps the first quarter of 2006.

Ut does? woops, didn't realize. It may for you, but for me it makes me think of great stories, great graphics, great sounds, and no bugs being prepared and tested to be the game of the year! For me.

Good for you Lews.

I would say that Lynn's reply gives me that feeling too, and restores some hope. But Marian's post just sounded curt and surly.

I sure hope you're right about DD2.

Thanks for the link and the info Barta. Perhaps Marian could have pointed us towards something like that rather just just look rude and uncooperative. "No" is not a helpful post PR wise.

Now you know why Lynn does the PR stuff and Marian does the graphics.

I thought it was very efficient.

don't worry much, hakea, for larians are working hard on this project as we speak, i'm sure. & marian is a very nice guy, once u get to know him better. he may be very busy so he didn't formulate a reply that will be satisfactory.

'no' is an honest answer which i would accept.

Actually i just answered the question. And yes, it was supposed to be honest. When there are no news which you can release in public why not saying that? I just told the truth in my typical sense of humor.

developer: shure but I have to kill you afterworts
member: Ok np
developer: gives him a link
member sees a nice (fake) trailer folowed by "the ring" and seven days later he was dead

suggestion: Not that i've got anything against microsoft, wait ok i have some thing against microsoft. It would be great if ² playable on linux (with an emulator ofcourse) remember this when choosing a CP.

I vote for the same but ² as a native linux version On the other side I don't think that Larian has the man-power for this

Humm!!! Seeing it was me who start this post by asking the question and receiving an answer from Marian. I must say that question was answered. I accept the answer, but as someone pointed out it was curt, someone else said you are a really nice guy once (you) I get to know you. I guess the person giving that answer knows you I do not know you as you do not me (nice guy once you get to know me).

Now as a paying customer (I did purchase the games) if I did buisness with you and you gave me answer like that I'd probally leave your store and not return.

Also based on your answer (no) I must assume (we all know that is not a good thing to put into a post or say verbally) that there are problems with DD II.

Again one must assume that it will be delayed and when released will have flaws.

Surprising how one word (no) to a simple question has lead to so many posts and concerns.

and as I posted earlier it didn't do a single thing to me, it made me think they were [ all I said ] and the reason it was short was becuz it was Marian's humour ( I THINk I get ) and it makes me think they have no time to reply because of all the big work.

Plus I've been in stores and asked 'do you have this' and they say 'no' and I get something else.

Maybe its just me, but, nah. . .

If they do not have the time to reply. Then how do they have the time to read them?

Stridar, if you had met Drow Marian in RL in a shop and got the answer "no" - you would have seen his mimic at the same time - he is (and I hate to admit his totally un-Drowish behaviour) a very nice and helpful person. In fact a disgrace for the whole Drow race, brings us into miscredit and raises suspicions, we Drows may be nice <shudder>

As Marian is the mod of the German forum parts, he is online daily - but posts more there. So, you can't "know" his humour, hm?

On a more serious note => I think it is usual procedure to keep infos about a product in development secret for a time being, until results are presentable to the public.

A guess on my behalf => during the development of BD rumours came about a project X the Larians are creating. So, if we hear news, this might come first.
