copy protection that makes me want to give the game and crack away as soon as i find it. and no [nocando] customer support to fix the problem $50 poorer. Hell of alot smarter thou.

Welcome though!

Do you have ANY problem with the game? I think Larian got off vacation recently, they might be able to chat.

And actually, I think the CP has done a good job of helping to stop piracy.

Did you try the support already? We always get back to the people, always.
There is no key anywhere as normally, no CD key is needed. The protection checks if the CD is not a copy. If the protection fails, you have to request a key by contacting us.

For the protection system to work, you need to insert the CD labeled "Disc Two" (or "Game CD") and then start the game.
Before doing so, you may want to shut down programs that are known to cause protection failure, such as Norton Antivirus and Daemon Tools.
Also, if you have more than one CD or DVD drive, the protection might require you to insert the CD in the other device.
If the protection check still fails, click the "information" button and mail the generated report to our support team: support@larian.com

my place to vent, so i will!

I sent all appropriate info to tech support including.

response from tech support was "that didnt work pls ......

of course how silly of me not to catch onto that particular statment.

that was last week, still have not gotten anywhere. and NO support apparently does not get back to there clients.

I dont run daemon tools or Norton. Brand new disk.

the point is to let someone know im not getting help. i have done it all and done it right. this is a last hope of getting help before i give up on the game. 50 bucks should allow me to bitch when im not getting ANY help.

this took 5 days and i still am not playing the game.
Possibly a little clarification on the popup eh?

When you first contacted me, you had given me only two lines from the copy protection report.

In order to create you a key for your game, the application I use to create you such a key, needs the whole report.
