Yeah he certainly lives on through the work of Larian Studios. That is like such an obvious fact, I'm surprised Elvis' ghost didn't appear yet to haunt them and demand money for all the Elvis plagiarism in the Divinity universe!

I mean, who lives in the dark woods? The Elves! Yeah, oh yeah, like we didn't see where that one was coming from! "Elves", it's probably just a typo too, knowing the Larians. Sheesh.
