i did the kill maria quesr#t. first i talked to her but i clicked away cos' i wanted 2 save. then i clicked and clicked away at here and i got no reply. i got out my weapon and she said the sheath weapons thing so i killed her n e way. quest complete ( but -2 reputation :( ). now when ever i walk past a gaurd it attacks me. is there any way to stop?

also i'm stuck on the quest geroge murdered. how do i do this?

Are you role playing as a good person or a bad person?

If you are playing a good person your best bet is to reload before you killed Maria and read/listen to what she has to say.
There's a lot more to this quest than what Malcolm tells you.

The murder of George will have it's continuation in Verdistis, in one of the houses (a wine merchant's house AFAIR).

What is your reputation at? If it gets too low guards will start attacking or NPCs will refuse to talk to you.

Crushkill, if you had killed Maria at a higher rep => the guards would not attack you. I tried this myself as an experiment => attacked her - she called for help, a few guards came to aid. Funnily enough only those attacked, others entering the house did not (the ones walking around there); simpl,y stood foolishly around - and I took care not to kill them, only the attacking ones. As she had fled out of the house, I cornered her outside to kill. No normal guard attacked me. My rep went down - but it was too high to trigger guard hostility later on.
