Ive killed everything in the wastelands, but have gone to where the black dragon is supposed to be and theres nothing there.
Ive spoken to the wizard, and he said he would mark my map, but hasnt.
Is my game FUBAR?

If I remember correctly, he's in the very top right of the screen. Go to the lake and follow it upwards.

If he's definately not there, then... have you patched the game to the latest version? I have no idea whether that it relevent in anyway to your problem, but it's something I would check on if I was in your situation.

All that is a last resort. Hopefully someone else here give you a solution which allows you talk to the dragon.

Yes, like DecemberNext said, He is there in the upper right area.
Go to the upper right next to the lake as previously mentioned and at the top follow the cliff line to your left.
It will curve in and around about one 800X600 screen length distance from the lake on your monitor.

If you do decide to reload to an early saved game, I would suggest going straight to where the dragon is supposed to be... avoiding any fights, get there as fast as you can, just to see if it was a problem with that particular saved game session, or with your overall game in general. If that makes sense.

If he's not there in the reloaded game, then I can't think of anything else to try except what I said in my previous post.

Please, check this map. Is this your place? Zandalor doesn't mark, as he gave you a wrong direction, saying => NW, but the dragon is actually NE.

You can toss an ancient pyramid onto the island, so you do not need the Spirit Form spell from the dragon, or by learning with skill points, to get across the swamp.
