i'm trying to get my components, but when i went back to the pipes level nixfix is gone. his uncle and the flooge are still about, but he's buggered off. i even went to the first place you see him and he's not there either. what's the deal?

Check your mini-map for green crosses. In my game both Tax and his uncle Nixfix wandered into the corridor north of that room.

If you are talking about the components for the first summoning test, it is uncle Nixfix that gives you the root. Do you have the Quetzalcellona mushroom already, found in the maintenance tunnels? If so, Nixfix just may not be recognizing it if you found it before getting the quest. Try dropping it and picking it up again, or just move it in your inventory, then talk to him again.

ok, tax is still in the room, nix is nowhere to be found. i'm hosed, right?
