Alright, I'm confused now. How in the world can I figure out George's murder if nobody in Aleroth is willing to help me out? What must I do to pin the blame on the guy who was arguing with him earlier when I first met George? Also, do any of you guys know where the axe 'Slasher' is? The Orcs are looking for it and they want me to help them find it. I've looked everywhere in the catacombs but it's not there. Slasher is in the Catacombs. Second or third level i believe. It is really distinct looking.
Yes, you do pin it on the creature you first saw leaving george's house, but you really won't meet or come across this quest till you reach Verditis. It is pretty hard to kill the creature, i'm not sure what level you are. but i waited till about level 20.

Just play further, look at the story unfolds and you will get your answer.
Don't want to spoil the things for you.

Hm, did you free Mardaneus from his sanity? If you visit George's shop = he's murdered. then go back to M.

You can still get the quest - just enter the house and then go to M.

Hmm, I've never done this combination - but if the teleporter in Aleroth is activated - why not try and have a little chat with Mardaneus? If you succeed, please, post it on the forum - I'd like to know what happens then.

I ran into the vampire in his cave with the village boy. This is not Verditis is it? I picked the lock and, something was said about him knowing George (he denied it) then I killed the vampire with about 20 Lightning spells.

Hope I didnt fubar the quest. I have not been to Verditis as far as I know.

There are two vampires in the game. The other is confident he will kill you, so is quite ready to chat about the murder and his motives.

Dang. One was bad enough. I could not fight him toe-to-toe so I used a couple potions of mana to kill him -- first time in game Ive ever had to do that I think. I guess Ive gotten used to monsters being too easy to kill so this one surprised me. Darn good treasure though! Im looking forward to staking his 'big brother' now <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Use Restoration potions, rather than mana. I didn't find the other vampire nearly as hard as the first, though I was a couple levels higher by that point.

My first one was easy (cave) = went into the corner behind the coffin as far as I could go and then pelted him with Deadly Discs as soon as he left his coffin and later on with ligthning.


Disadvantage, the item he drops afterwards is then stuck in the wall = telekinesis is needed

The 2nd one : energy cage, curse (survivor) + elemental hail.
