I have to agree... Everything in the background is just gorgeous, and the skeleton looks very frightening. And for the record: I really love his pose. I know it's just a screenshot of one frame, but he looks very animated, unlike those static enemies you see in Oblivion screenshots.

The only thing left is some shadows and it would be just perfect. Really, I mean it. It looks completely next-gen.

So yeah, congratulations to the graphic artists!

The whole thing does! The waterfall, the house, the statue behind the trees, the trees themselves, the skeleton warrior... He looks frightning, very well done! Though it looks like his companion fell apart due to an overdose of existential thought! It's been a real plague among skeleton warriors these last years!

and gamedesigners...

Yes you're right, game designers have been a real plague among skeleton warriors these last years.

Gamedesigners have existential thoughts. I tought they didn't think at all <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

ps: That dead dude should have known better. A sword against a skeleton he should have used a crushing weapon. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Actually I was talking about the skeleton warriors.

But I guess the case could be made that game designers are dead inside for too much coffee, alcohol, stress and rave parties. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />

@ bean -> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" /> u know, i wish that thought of yours will come true in the next Larian game - the christmas set. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/xmassmiley.gif" alt="" />

@ morbo & barta -> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

@ wazzz -> people should read Viktor Frankl more. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

as for the screenie, it looks so gorgeous & i'm very afraid that it will make my wallet flatter than homer's hair due to the upgrade requirement.

i hope Larian will let us know how much firepower it took to have that screenie animated.

Yeah I know I'm already saving to upgrade my cpu (a X2 would be nice) and a new GPU that will be able to handle hdr lighting(next year(december) Upgrade part 2: and this time it's personal )

Btw is it may imagination or is this a screenshot with not all the details on high? Like I don't see shadows and I don't think hdr lighting is used. Could be my eyes are decieving me. If that is the case the "real" screenshots would look even better right? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

1- YES altho it was turned off at the demo Lar showed at multimania, HDR is kind of a performance eating monster, but the engine has HDR <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
2- me to
3- maybe 4th quarter I guess.. or first half of 2007
