After the interlude following the blessing, I get a blank screen (except the control panel) and I can do no action. The map shows I'm still in the council area, a bit to the north.
I think just inserting the play CD should work. If you do need to remove the no-CD hack but didn't keep a backup of the original, reinstalling the patch should fix that. You will also require the play CD for the final cut scene of the game.
I remember having the same problem a long time ago, but I never used a crack... probably was before I patched it. Anyway, that's long ago now, and I'm not having that problem any longer ^^
