Looks like this little gem will be out soon, even if this release date is put back !

http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/dungeonsiege2.aspx

I'll probably buy this the day it's released. Looking forward to playing this in single and MP mode

1: This is really a thread for the RPG part of this forum . Oh, wait, it isnn't since it's not an RPG, it's an ACTION-RPG, not to be confused with RPGs .

2: I have to disagree in the "gem" part on your post. I don't really care about Dungeon Siege, it's a shame pepole will buy it and see it as a real RPG.

By the way, this is just my own humble oppinion .

Übereil

PS: By the way, thanks for warning ! DS

I thought Dungeon Siege II was suppose to have more RPG elements than the first one, but judging by the narrated video on the website, that doesn't appear to be the case. I think I'll wait for some reviews before deciding if I want to try the demo.

The reason I posted it in this particular thread, is because I looking forward to the multiplayer aspects of this game. And as this will turn into a multiplayer thread, I put it here I played DS in multiplayer mode and really enjoyed it. I think the multiplayer side will have a lot to offer. The action will be intense, and the enemy AI is supposed to be more advanced!

Ok, so it's not BGII but I'm looking forward to the frantic action that the multiplayer side has to offer

I enjoyed Dungeon Seige 1 well enough. I agree it lacks some RPG aspect, and I agree with the critics that the fact that your people fight for you sort of takes away from the game, but it was fun enough and I'll get the second one. But I think I'll wait 'till it goes down to like 20$. I don't think that at least the first one was worth a full price. But if you can get it cheap, enjoy the game!

In short I'm saying its defanantly fun if for a small price, its worth about 20$, to me at least. *shrug*

Well, it's not like it could have any less.

Every time I think about dungeon seige I think to myself, "Boy I wish I could take a crap in a box and have millions of people pay me $50 each for it."

true enough the old DS + add-on are crap though the graphics engine are magnificent. fortunately though there are a number of great mods out there (called siegelets & stuff) for it that it is almost forgiven. too bad it's not as well known in that aspect as how NWN engine have been.

I LOVE the game, I've almost finished chapter 2 now, and I haven't been bored for a single second. Freeing the princess was the hardest fight up until now, but the most fun as well, my party got cut in half en only my melee fighter an combat mage were still fighting, combat mage got unconscious from time to time, but the melee hung in there... the fight lasted 20 minutes, just for 1 boss !!

Oh okay. I was just gonna say if you were a fan of the first one, it would discredit your rave reviews of the second one.

as good as the second can be, i feel that it's overrated as how most gamsites perceive it to be.

i am currently playing my 2nd & 3rd characters (range & melee respectively) & i feel the quests to be very tiring (should've listened to Mea & Shyon earlier) & .... well tiring. had to do a lot of runaround with the layout of the place & maps unfriendly, i had to grit my teeth & try to at least accomplish a quest before retiring with relief.

note: i have a big problem with this game after i patched it to 2.2 from 2.0 & that is my previous savegame played in the older version becomes unreadable though it's still there in the save folder. how do i get the game to recognise it & read it? sad to let go of my level 38 Nature Mage, which took me a lot of time to build up as nature mage has the slowest progress of all character types. *sigh*

hmm yup the patches sometimes do that, when they cant spent too much time on them ... however the only way I can see you playing your 38 characters is by un-installing and re-installing without the patch and then only if those save files havent' been corrupted by the patch

.... or i can save that for some other time when i may decide on re-installing the game in the future.

oh well. thanks for the tips, Mea.
