Everytime I installing the divine divinity game there is a popup message crc error but it completed the installation and I can play the game but I cant choose character, the only one character I can choose is the survivor female and I cant equip all kind of shield it is causes the game to crash! CRC error means something is wrong with the filesizes. Check your CD's for scratches or dust. If you bought it in a store, you might have to return it to get a replacement copy. If you downloaded or copied the game... Well, then you should try buying the game.

CRC errors are a problem with the cd itself yes....

Its possible that the files that became corrupt are those of the other characters.

You can try to create an image of the game on your har disk and install it from there, or you can borrow a friend's copy....

If another CD doesnt help, then there may be something wrong with your cd-rom.... but check the cd first...

If you can, use a cd cleaner... if you dont have a cd cleaner, you can do a fairly similar job with a spray can deoderant (NOT ANTI-PERSPIRANT), and a very soft cloth (like the type the use with reading glasses / spectacles) Wipe from the INSIDE to the OUTSIDE, not in circles....

Try a different optical drive, if you can. Some drives simply have problems with some CDs, and if there are scratches, etc on the CDs, some drives are better than others at correcting for that.
