My condolences to you.
Last year around this time I lost a grandmother. I know how it feels. It's like "an era has ended".

I lost my last grandparent last year, the only one I ever met (the others where dead when I was born), to Alzeimer's. He'd been falling for years and never remembered who I was really. Coulnd't really feel that sorry for him, he never really meant something for me. So it acually feels like I never had any grandparents at all . But it must be whorse for you since you're...what? Around 30? Or is it 40? Anyway, you knew him, which I didn't really do with my grandparents (not even the living one). Was it from your mother's or father's side by the way? We have different word for our mother's father and our father's father (sam with the mothers) which is less confuseing.

He was my mothers father. And I'm only 27
yeah, the era ended alright. i'm gonna go see my grandmother tonight, hope she's alright. on his deathbed he raved on about the 2nd world war a lot... sad to see him being haunted by that so much.

See it positive, either he's in a better place, or in no place at all, and if he's in no place at all, he won't bother. And 27 is around 30 .

I lost my last grandparent last year, the only one I ever met (the others where dead when I was born), to Alzeimer's. The grandmother I mentioned, seemingly last year, too. Two grandfathers were lost by cancer. One grandmother is still living, though, and I don't expect her to die soon, she's simply too "earthbound" to do that.

I send Viper and his family my deepest symphaty for their loss. Your grandfather is now in a place, where he can watch over you and everybody he loved. Think of that when you miss him the most. *hugs*

My sympathies to you and your family, Viper. Death is worse to live for the ones who remain. I hope your grandmother will be alright.

whether u believe it or not, i believe that he has gone to a better place. God bless your grandpa's soul, Viper. may he rest in peace.
Fille, u're wise for one so young. it is true, we cannot do anything for the one that passes on, yet we must care for those who still live. do take care of those who are close to him, Viper.
my grandma passed away about 2 years back & it was a big shock to the family as she was one of the strongest person we knew. but i guess God loves her more than us so she was taken 'home'.
......a gift from LaFille......

Yeah, my grandmother died about 2 or 3 months ago as well. I didn't think I'd actually be too sad, I didn't know her that much. But I am. =(
I am sorry Viper.
I hope all relatives of everyone here will Rest In Peace.
