Well the tittle say most of it.

everyone is talking about Divine Divinity 2, but will there even be one?
topics with names like: suggestions for dd2, DD2
everywhere you can see things like adding this, removing that, replace that in dd2.

well if there would be a dd2, could someone please give some proves of it?
(maybe the larian-team is working on a hole different game now)
(it would be great if one of the mod's would answer this post)

You know the screens, you know Larian is working on a new game, which we all call Divine Divinity II. Perhaps it will have that title, perhaps not, but the important thing to know is that they are in the process of developing a new game. Relax, sit back and just wait for what info might come our way.

Why do we call it Divine Divinity II? My guess is that
- everybody here loved the original and want more!
- non of the Larians, as far as I know, has ever suggested another title or informed us that we shouldn't call their project Divine Divinity II
- in the screens you can read the words Aleroth and Verdistis, so we may assume we'll be back in Rivellon

The waiting is the hardest part! I'm confident though, that in the end the game will have been worth the wait.

the screens can just be a reworked version of the original divine divinity
so they can show use how new games will look.

True, but no doubt the game will still take place in the Divine Divinity universe, even if it's not going to be in Rivellon.

I like Rivellon, so thats no problem. But if it would be in Rivellon you would kinda feel familiar with the area, with will take away a lot of tension and stuff. I like exploring new area's, but at the same moment feeling that you know the place and nothing unexpected can happen. well i know there is no game that can accomplish that so i just will keep playing Divine Divinity and DD2 even everyone says it sucks.

As I said in another thread concerning this topic: I'd like to see both new and some familiar areas. That would establish a great feel and would be I think unique in an RPG.

I always think it's great to have a 'safe' area. Like when you drop a pyramid in Aleroth for instance: you can be in a fierce battle in the Dark Forest, yet when it's time to lick your wounds a quick click on your pyramid transports you to safety and you're greeted by the music (a wind of Aleroth), Mardaneus if you need the healing and Kitty who follows you around town. Atmosphere in : unbeatable

Oh my god! You sadistic b*st*rd! You'd send a little cat in before you? What cruel and cowardly behaviour. I'm sure the healers wouldn't approve at all! And if Arhu were to find out, he'd rightly leave you to rot in Iona's dungeon!
Adventurers today, they're not what they used to be!

Um, I have my doubts about that.
I'm not so far through the game, but my feeling's that the players are driven to the light side.
Good behaviour will be rewarded by reputation, side quests and cheaper prices, while bad behaviour (as far as I got in the game) simply doesn't pay.
A balanced RPG would allow a player to switch sides, so that once his rep is very bad he may join the orcs or so.
That'd be cool.
