If you installed the patch before you started your current game, Finnigan in the cellar of the Ducal inn in Verdistas carries survivor supplies, often including scorpion traps, and other stuff. Otherwise, Blake in Ars Magicana and Mpenzak in Verdistis sometimes carry them.

If you quick save before running your mouse over an item/chest/merchant or hitting the alt key, you can identify the item or trade with the merchant, then quick load to get different stats or inventory. This can be done repeatedly to get the best stats or specific bonuses on an item (save after finding good candidates) or looking for specific items (such as spell books or charms) from merchants. Don't waste too much time with this, though, it really isn't necessary to get the best possible equipment.

You can get a lot of them by killing in the catacombs and dungeons. If amount still worries you, try to put more skillpoints into the "dadly gift" skill. Your scorpions will be powerful enough at high levels of this skill that you wont need many. Unless, that is, you have a sleeping habbit: summoned creatures die if you sleep.

"dadly gift" skill

Fatherly gifts

Good advice anyway. Don't just look for places to buy them: Deadly Gift can help and several of them are dropped when killing an enemy.

First, you need to know the survivor's skill Deadly Gift. When you select that as your secondary skill, a menu will pop up with icons of each type of trap in your inventory, for you to select one. After that, you just right click on the ground somewhere to set a trap.

Scorpions will wander around; if you want them to follow you, you need to use the Aura of Command spell on them. Some people have reported that using Aura of Command cuts the experience points from scorpion kills (or summoned / resurrected creatures) in half, while others found there was no difference.

nice. i never tried that before. i would just let about 5 of them walk around and kill anything in their path. then i would gain xp while i was just wandering around. next time i play i will try this.

So you're just walking around and getting xp? Sound like fun, maybe I should try this after all.

Well I finished the game several times and I never used them. When an area is too difficult, I just come back later! (That sounds a lot like advice I read somewhere )

well, it may sound easy to use scorpion traps, but i unleashed almost 200 and it seems that they only attack other creatures when you can see them on your minimap. thats kinda dumb, cause you cant just stand still and let the xp flow trough your veines.(that would be SOOO easy)

The game does not actually draw NPCs/monsters in unless they are close enough to be seen on your mini-map.
