I haven't been able to find any proper walkthrough for BFs:
Google Search for BD's BF walkthroughs

Having trouble with a few locked enterances and a quest where I killed the daemon, got his belt and showed it to the "quest givver" (some lady in BF1 camp), but the quest isn't complete yet.

The battlefields are randomly generated... so unfortunately no walk throughs.... (not for inside the dungeons in anycase...)

As for the locked entrances...

Like the battlefield key you found in the main game, there will be more of those.... each one unlocking an entrance.

There are 3 in act 1
6 in act 2-4.

You can find a walkthrough for the game itself though, and it will have the locations of all the battlefield keys.

The official Strategy guide

Hope this helps...

Have you installed the patch? There were some problems with BF quests in the original release.

Did the BF merchant acknowledge the belt when you spoke to her but the quest log was not updated, or did she not accept the belt at all?

I had heard ominous things about the patch so I didn't install it first. After getting a referance from you I called a friend who said it's okay. Apologies for doubting you.

I installed the new patch and now the tiny version number on main menu reads 1.47 instead of 1.10

Hopefully they fixed that battlefield bug too. I gave a glance at the list of fixed bugs but didn't find that. Here is a full description of the problem.

When I killed the monster and picked up the belt form it the quest did not update. I talked to the lady (I am bad at names. Her name starts with A) who gave me quest. The quest did not update yet. I made the DK (Death Knight) wear the belt and then talked to her... nothing happened yet. Then I put the belt back in his inventory. Later when I moved the mouse over the belt in the inventory the quest log changed for the first time. It said that it should go and talk to the lady. I did it but nothing happened.
All this happened before the patch.

I saw one thing after the patch though. Recall the dying prisioner who needs water in Act I (Citadel level one as far as remember). I had already picked up the bottle from the kitchen (I knew this from the Demo). When I gave him water I don't remember any exp increase. Though other things happened like change in quest log and spawning of a spellbook.

The patch might not fix the quest problem you have already encountered, but it should prevent that from happening again in later acts.

If you got the spell book from the prisoner, then you probably also got the experience.

I restarted the game after the patch so that I may play it completely by the book (the strat guide). These problems are after installing the patch. And one more thing... (maybe this should go in the suggestions section but it's only a small improvement): I think that those massages which fly over the characters showing how much exp they got or what damage they incurred should stop right there when we pause the game. Instead they just vanish in thin air after moving vertically up. They are quite difficult to read already in front of a drak background.

What I do is to save the game before going through any enterance or jumping down any hole and return to the guide and return to the guide and see if I missed out anything.
