Thanks guys.

I'm amazed that you noticed someone sneaking back in again. I'm doing fine thanks Ubereil. I've even been getting a little fitter in order to hit 60 later this year in reasonable shape.

Not quite as diligent about it as Cleglaw, but both my wife and I realised that we had slipped into the overweight class by quite a few kilos, so we've changed the way we eat. Now we're both in good shape again.

I've been learning the guitar and the clarinet (with the saxaphone in reserve...). That's been a lot of fun. And I've stopped home schooling my son (who is now thirteen) who has started High School this year. They have an excellent Special Ed Unit there for the kids with various disabilities, so he fits in well and has a great time. Different to when I went to school - apart from the Maths and English he does all sorts of sports, gardening, drama, art, and even horse riding!

So I've been fixing up a few things round the house, including making a garden. I think Cleglaw might enjoy our vegetable section - with all sorts of different goodies coming along. Nothing quite like the taste and satisfaction of growing your own. So I've been spending time on a gardening forum, trying to learn a few tips.

How about all the people here? What have you all been up to Ubereil? I still haven't got around to going to Northbridge and trying to see if I can spot Mea Culpa...

Cheers, Chris

What disabilities? (I wonder how to speak bad of him of cause !)

What I've been up to... Well, I've finnished Gymnasium (age 16-18, more free choices than earlier on), and am now going to university. I'm going to read simulation and computergameenginering (so I'll hopefully work with makeing computergames when I'm done ). I've allso started dabbling a little in pen & paper RPG's (Mutant, heir of ruin or something like that. Think it is Swedish only, at least I didn't find an english site about it). Going forward on the friendsdepartment. Life's improveing .

PS My parents have allso realized they're in the overweightclass, and are trying to do something about it. Unfortunantlly (for them), they're not as succsessfull as you. DS

lol Kris you probably wouldn't recognize me anyway I am somewhat different in real life then what appears on the forum

If however you happen to come to Northbridge (and not on a Tuesday which is my day off) I will be sure to buy you a nice bottle of erm "plonk" presuming you drink the stuff (I have a bad memory and can't quite remember if you talked about that or not) and I will promptly instruct Michel our Chef to create the very best he can for you.

Oh and if you happen to find out who I am, heck I even include a discount [Linked Image]

Oh btw (memory just kicked in) [Linked Image]

Hi, Kris. It's nice to see you in here.

I'm just like you on gardening; minus maybe success.

Oh, and take care, Mea might want to make you fall back into the previous class, beware...

Well, it was probably dumb of me to mention it, because it can sound like a grab for sympathy (which it isn't - it's just that it's been the major thing in my life for the past decade, so it's hard to ignore). He's what they call "intellectually disabled". Severely autistic and so on. Couldn't speak until he was six (by which time you're usually never going to. After doing a lot of work with visual communication cards (which I made with photos)he started to talk. Now he never shuts up - it just doesn't always make a lot of sense. He lives in a world of his own, but it's really rather a nice world - no worries about Iraq or politics, etc. Has great difficulty with an actual conversation, but can operate his computer and scanner well. The best thing from our point of view is that he has a sense of humour and laughs often. Everything else we can work with. I've taught him basic reading and writing and simple maths, so it's all a whole lot brighter that it was ten years ago. And we love a him a lot too.

Excellent! Good luck with the Uni. One of my nephews is doing pretty much the same thing. He's also a games freak and spends all his time hooked up to the net organising other people in different parts of the world who are helping him put games and mods together. I haven't seen any yet, as he lives on the other side of the country, but my brother tells me that they do a good job at it. My nephew is also hoping to work somewhere in the games industry when he's finished his course.

Uni should be a good place for new friends too - more like minded people to meet.

You mean that's not you in your avatar??? I'm disappointed!

I go to a restaurant probably once every ten or twenty years (no kidding..) but next time I do I'll be sure to head your way. Must be due soon....

It's always intriguing meeting somebody that you know online or by phone because they're never all that much like the imaginary person you've built up. So I have to reluctantly kill off the creation and replace it with something a bit closer to the reality. Quite sad sometimes - you can get quite attached to the imaginary one you've created!

I just sent you a PM but I'm not sure if it worked as it doesn't seem to be showing up in my sent box now...

Darn it... I should pay more attention, instead of flitting in and out...
