Well, I've got a win98Se system with an AMd 800 Mhz processor, but over 300 MB RAM.
<img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> run just fine, but for <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> I had to use the minimum of detail etc. within the game. Otherwise it wouldn't run.
What you need in any case is *lots* of free hard disk space !

I have the case of Beyond Divinity in front of me and it says that the minimal system requirments are 800 Mhz, 256 MB Ram, a 64MB 3d card and 2 GB free disc space.

I've got a 32 MB graphics card, maybe that was the reason.

Beyond Divinity never ran very well for me, it was always quite slow... My comp has a 1.3MHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 256MB RAM, 64MB graphics card, OS is Windows ME. My computer has been in a lot of use though.

I always try to shut down unneeded programs before running a game.
It helps. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

My computer has been in a lot of use though. I hope that's a 1.3 GHz because I got microcontrollers that are faster than that. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
