Life is full of tragedies I am afraid.

Yes it is.

I'm currently living through one:

A friend from another forum suffers from an aggressive form of Leukemia, and she will probably die soon. She wrote that she "didn't have the life-force/power anymore", and that she abandoned the treatment - she's already in a dangerous stage - and life the rest of her life instead.

She has fought for so long now (about one year), and the *whole* forum suffered with her, so to say. Sensitive people are moved much more by these things than "normal" people, because of their sensitivity.

So now, she will probably died, the fight is seemingly over, and that makes us all so sad.

I wish your friend and everyone in her family and friend community good luck Alrik.
There isn't much more I can say about Mea. He will live on in all our hearts. But one thing I'm pretty sure of, wherever he is, I bet he's telling jokes and made them up there crack up!

I read yesterday that she's "feeling better" now. At least that's an improvement.

Well, she wrote that she's full of power again and that her "vacation" was enormously good for her, so to say.

Now - surprising for us all - she starts again (with the treatment) !

Yes, she is doing better now - she's back in the hospital and tries another run to get rid of her illness.

But still things are complicated ...

I just popped in on Christmas Day to say a quick hello and stumbled upon this sad news.
I did send tom a few e-mails since the time of his death with no response and now i understand why.
May you rest in peace m8.....NWN rocks bud..sleep well.

I didn't know him but from his posts, Mea Culpa sounded like a really great guy: a nearly extinct humanoid species. I did read this thread a while ago but it's really hard to cope with the emotions from the people who knew him.

And it's so hard to read a thread when you come across his name and it's like he's still around, talking to you.

it really is hard for those of us who loved him.

you're right. he was a really great guy and he loved and cared about his friends and was always there for them.

he is deeply missed and like you said, it is very hard when you come across one of his posts. it makes you feel as if he is still around, but you know in you head that he isn't.

i still miss him very much especially when i see an old post. i know he wouldn't want us to grieve but instead to be happy and that is what i am trying to do. if i can give something back that he gave me, i know it will make him happy.

He was the very first person on a forum who openly confessed that he liked my dry humour.

I'm still grateful for him / that.
