What I found a bit strange about the Divinity II announcement is that the title has a completely new look, nothing to do with div or beyond. It even reminded me at first at "Civilization". Why did you leave the old font behind?

That's a pretty good question & I've got a corporate answer to that one - There's even some truth to it wink Here goes:

We wanted to make a game where people were going to say - hey, that looks and plays really cool - rather than have a game where people said - hey, that plays cool but it's a shame about the outdated technology. I thought the gamestar preview was very typical of that (the ending where he talks about the outdated tech for Divinity 1). To reach that goal, we had to invest heavily in both our art and technology over the last years, and radically change our approach to development (which honestly was quite chaotic in the past). Our internal quality expectations are a lot higher nowadays and we are very demanding in trying to polish things. So, the different font thing wasn't really done on purpose (actually, it was made by somebody outside the team), but it somehow symbolizes that change and it felt natural to change the look.

I have to say, I really like the look of the title. When I first logged on to larian.com after the announcement I just stared at it for a few moments. I especially like the dragon, you might be able to tell.

The same way that for books the cover designers and those writing the short description on the back always don't know anything about the book? smile

Well, I was just astonished that my first association to the new title was Civilization and not div, but I think after some time that will change (at last when I hold the game in my hands... laugh )

to be honest, i think the new font is a bit thin
when i think of dragons, i think if mighty fearsome beasts !
but i don't get that feeling from this title

just my 2 cents ...

You got the wrong accentuation, Al (as always, i´m tempted to add - very! grin ):
It shoulda rather been:

I like it too ... - especially because it is different !

shouldn´t it, ol´ pal?

Shouldn't that be: "Actually, they're both fine" ?

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Anyway, back to the topic!
