Music composed by Kirill Pokrovsky for Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity was wonderful, but who'll be composing music for Divinity 2 ?

The music was absolutely fabulous in DD, I spent a lot of gameplay time venturing back to certain areas just to hear the music even though the areas had been cleared of enemies. laugh I am thrilled to hear the same composer is being used.

I cannot wait to get this game, I just hope my computer is up to the job. I can play Oblivion on it so I am crossing my fingers. wave

Music is very important, even more than graphics in my opinion. I wish the music from Divinity 2 could use a lot of voice, violin, and acoustic guitar. It must be epic, original, just like in Divine Divinity, Ultima VII, Heroes of Might and Magic V,Final Fantasy VI, etc.

Voice acting is very important too. I like the voices in Divine Divinity. Unfortunatelly most of modern RPGs have terrible voice work, like Oblivion and Gothic III to name a few.

Good luck on the development of Divinity 2. It'll be the RPG of the year, I'm sure wink (if it's 2009, there will be an epic fight between Divinity 2 and Dragon Age: Origins).

Playing RPGs since Akalabeth.

I completely agree with you Ryu, for me the music can make or break a game.

It's very good to hear that Kirill Pokrovsky will be creating the music for DD2.
Also i totally agree with both Marzy and Ryu.
Hehe that's something that could have come straight out of my mouth Tenorek.

Music is one of the most important things to me in a game. Great music really can make a game brilliant. The only problem is that the majority of people (i'd say around 80%) don't realise this. A great soundtrack can keep you immersed in the game even during boring parts. It also brings back many great memories of that game when you hear it again.

I'd say the music soundtrack accounts for around 45-50% of the gaming experience, so without it you are only going to get 50% satisfaction. Well, to me anyway.

P.S. The DD2:ED guy in the picture has a wicked hair style. Top marks!!! And the music on the official DD2 website sounds awesome.

Damn you larian, I may have to buy a new computer so I can play this game. There's no way my 1.5 celeron laptop will be able to handle it.

Music makes the gaming experience so much better indeed. But what really makes a game soundtrack (and also a movie soundtrack) top quality for me is the feeling you get when you listen to it without playing the game. If that makes you lean back and makes you start dreaming happily of the world the game/film takes place in, only then it is an excellent soundtrack.

Just turned on the DD soundtrack again and yup, it is now qualified as top-class.

I agree with everyone above here smile
Music is absolutely very important in game.
I remember just listening to the intro-theme of DD, not to mention all the other songs in the game.
Who doesn't remember the lovely flute tune in the woods?

I hope Kirill Pokrovsky can come up to my expectations.. But I think he will smile

No worries if he's doing it again.

As long as he doesn't flood the studio taking a bath again =p

Hmm, would it be a to high expectation to assume there will be a seperate music CD in the collectors edition of the game? :hihi:

I'd also assume downloadable tracks from his site like he has now (downloads are on right frame)

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

I was just wondering, if the music we hear in the teaser trailer is the same as we can expect in the game? It sounds already good...
