Hello, everyone,

since I saw the first pictures of the goblins I wonder what and why this glowing thing is there. What it really is.

The Goblin Shaman in the creatures section make me wonder even more, since he seems to partially consist of this "glowing".

Can anyone "enlighten", or better, "englow" me ? wink

Alrik

From the looks of it, it's natural luminescence. I'm not sure if that means it's magical, a symbiotic relationship with an organism that lives on it, or if its simply 'for looks'.

Guess I'll have to answer this one :P

When I was asked to draw up a div2 goblin, I wanted to have a design which moved away from the typical looks you would expect from these creatures. So I drew these one-eyes beings, with long pointy skulls, but something was still missing. I think it was Swen that came up with the idea to add the glowing eye and veins: the goblins in div2 feed on light, they absorb it and are able to channel it into powerful magic. I hope you're satisfied with this little explanation wink

Don't call the PR guys lazy, ok? wink

We do have a FAQ at the official div2 website where you can find plenty of info. Every week we have updates, our famous Wednesday updates by now smile
And bit per bit we offer you something more.

Of course not everything, but 1/ we can't reveal too much before the game hits the market and 2/ everyone working on the game is pretty, and I repeat pretty wink busy.

@Koen : Ah, very nice, excellent ! smile This was the explanation I was looking for ! smile Thanks ! smile

So the more light, the more powerful ? Yes, that makes sense ... think

*a whole lot of new ideas forming up in his head*

Obviously, my emote didn't capture my "tongue in cheek" jab. I know all you guys are busy.

I think I am spoiled by other games wealth of info, and this has me in a quandary. But I really feel that in the end, I would rather know less about a game rather than more before it is released. Knowing more before gets the excitement going, but knowing less and discovering on my own once the game is released is infinitely more satisfying.

That being said...is it Wednesday yet? wink
