Hi! I've restarted as a thief, (even though I say to be one, I haven't been one). Well I've been wondering what I should do! I've stolen, yes stolen everything I can sell, like globes, rusty swords and I've been saving up by skill points. I'm wondering what skills I should get, I'm thinking about Identify, to save money, and meteorstrike to get rid of orcs and hard skeletons at this easy leval. I'm also wondering what kind of ratio I should have for skills. Any Help whould be appreciated

5 into lock and steal...none in ID because once you get into the game money becomes moot. Sight...bow exp at least one in repair just incase you are in a fight and need a quick repair. Other than that...its up to you

I put points into Identify more so I had the option to quick save and re-load to get better equipment, not to save money. Having to bring loot somewhere to identify it would make this much slower. Also, I just liked knowing what something was right away. If it was better than what I had, I could swap immediately, not after getting encumbered, returning to base and sorting stuff out (not that I changed equipment much after the mid point in the game).

Level 1 in Meteor Strike should be good enough, since you can cast it continuously.

The rest kind of depends on your playing style, but check out Free skills, and spell books you can buy so you know which skills not to max right away.

Yea. I'm a thief, and I found a belt with +1 identafy, but I already have level 3, at level 13 thief so I guess thats 3 gone down the drain. I'm working on getting my lockpicking and pickpocketing up, but I have level 2 meterorstrike. I'm wondering about restoration. I had level 5 on my warrior, but I'm wondering about on my thief.

Alchemy 2 , Poison weapon 2 and Freeze 1. This will sort out any orchs and trolls AND heal, hide and protect you. Doesnt help with killing undead though....

Suggestion and rationale:

Alchemy - able to mix restoration potions. More levels helps ensure you won't run out of potions midway.

Elemental Arrow - Does random lighting/fire/cold damage with one shot. Useless at the end of game though.

Repair - At least one level - having your bow or sword breaking at the wrong time is a major disaster.

Enchant - No doubt about it -- have it at level 5. The game may get too easy after you do so though, and getting the capital for gold charms may prolong the game.

Lockpick - What decent thief does without this skill? The wonders beyond locked doors are yours. Hint - I remember that you can get 3 levels of lock-pick for free in the game.

Deadly Gift - Thieves don't go wading into tides of enemies. They lure enemies into traps of death! Scorpions can be quite expenisve and rare at the beginning, so use sparingly.
