Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) General Duping plague cure potion?

I’ve searched for quite a while, but I can’t find a third plague cure potion. Then I remembered using the magic mirror to duplicate a potion so I could heal both people in the starting village. Is there another magic mirror in the game? I hate that I can’t cure all three plague victims. If there is another way to acquire a third potion, please let me know.

Nope there is only one magic mirror. This is a choice you have to make in the game. There are only two potions.

There are some options though:
1. Steal one potion back from a victum.
2. Kill one victum and take it back.
3. Only cure two and chose with ones (originaly meant).

For the first option, you need PickPocket at level 2.
You can buy rings/amulets/etc. with a bonus to that skill; keep an eye out while trading, or quick save before talking to (or running the mouse over) Kistandalius (or maybe the dwarven jeweler) and quick load until you find something suitable.

Thanks for the tips. How often does Kistandalius's inventory change?

If his inventory is full ( I'd say over a dozen items ), then he doesn't get any new items. So if you want it changed, you have to buy some of his stuff.

I'm not too sure, maybe 10 or 15 minutes real time would be enough to reset it. Hitting alt or running your mouse over him will set his inventory, so as long as you quick save before doing so, you can repeatedly quick load to get new items. I did this a few time looking for spell books, but I'm not sure how long it would take to get a specific spell bonus.

Why not. I never tried it. I guess this should work.

You can try, but I don't think it will work. The plague victim quest was designed to make you choose who to cure and which one to let die.

Magic mirror can duplicate healing gem only.

But you can use duplicate trick to make more cure potions:

[*]Quicksave
[*]Choose item (or stack of items) from your inventory you wish to duplicate. Click & [color:"white"]hold[/color] mouse button on that item.
[*]Drag the item to a different location out of the inventory (somewhere on the ground).
[*]Quick load (you may release mouse button after load starts, not before).

And when the game loads, you'll have two items (or stacks), one in inventory, other on the ground. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
