[color:"00cccc"] The hoarde of undead had distracted me. I fired a few shots over the wall and watched satisfied as a few skeletons' heads exploded. There were so many of them... Then suddenly, as if the sun had risen anew, the land before my eyes was bathed in holy light. A wonderous sight to behold. The undead crumbled to dust beneath it. Their withered corpses returning from where they had risen. I heard a chorus of peirceing shrieks, looking over I was astounded to see the demons returning to their own twisted dimentions. In the centre of it all there was Nero, looking pained but relieved. He was himself again.
"WOOOOMMMMMBBBLLLEEE!" Jurak hollered at me.
"What now?" I sighed and went back to the inn.

There was a new guest, his name was Virgo or something. He was having difficulty speaking due to the severity of his wounds.
"Willow! Help this man!" I called urgently. She came over, looking slightly weary from casting such a powerful spell. Still concious though, which was an improvement. Having the child seemed to give her strength. She was more radiant.

She bent down and touched Virgo's weakened body. Light passed from her hands to his wounds, creeping over them, glimmering and closing them to give renewed flesh.
"There!" She said, almost surprised at herself, "good as new!"

"Tell us of yourself, Virgo." I said, "so we can make sure you're not a bloody spy....."

[color:"#00cccc"]I stood there on the wall on the southern side of town, watching the undead and trying to figure out how to defeat them.
Womble was shooting at them with great accuracy. I tried to concentrate to get my symbol working. Suddenly the ground shaked and the undead simply dissaspeared into the ground <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />.

I heard Willow call me and went to her. We went to the inn to get Aurora back with us.
On entrance i saw Jurak sitting at the table with an unknown man, who was badly wounded.
Willow went over to him to see what she could do. Aurora, curious as ever, stood by her side. I noticed some brightly glittering in her eyes. Willow concentrated on the wounds. I have to say i'm impressed she wasnt unconcious after sutch a powerfull spell. Seems like her strenght had grown.

Aurora stood next to her, holding Willows free hand. There seemed to be somekind kind of connection between them. It was like Aurora gave the strenght to heal the stranger onto Willow. What was that all about??? Was my little girl becomming a healer?? It was pretty fast for the age she was. On the otherhand she was no ordinary kid anyway.
"That should do it." said Willow.
She stood up and came to me.
"Did you saw it?" she asked. "Saw what?"
"Aurora."
"Yep i saw that. What was that all about?"
Willow told me what she felt and what she did, it simply confirmed my assumption.
"So our little girl improves the strenght of your magic. I wonder if she could do it for everybody?"
"Time will tell." Willow laughly said.
I hugged her and give her a passionate <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissyou.gif" alt="" />

"Ok, now lets find out who this mysterious man is." and i walked over to the table.

[color:"#00cccc"]“Thank you for healing me. I’m afraid there is nothing I have to give to you as payment.”

Downs the goblet of mead. “Ah that hit the spot.”

“I used to live in a huge forest called Mithrilla with my parents. Mithrilla is very far from here to the Northwest. My Half-Elf father, Christar Bluefire was once an adventurer that settled down in Mithrilla. During his last adventure, some very old creature whose name is lost to time, cursed my father for trespassing in its sacred territory. Then my father met my Elven mother, Danielith Bluefire. Together they had me as their only child. One day when I was 15, my father died. The curse had killed him; it had taken away all his strength. I was then left with my mother and so I took care of her. One day while I was out chopping wood off a dead tree for a fire, a group of strange people began asking my mother some questions about me. They soon left in anger and I ran to my mother to see what had happened. My mother told me that they were members of a mercenary group called The Blood Ring. They had wanted to take me off my mother’s hands, my mother of course refused. The next day while I was off exploring the forest, my mother was killed.”

Downs another goblet of mead. “That is good stuff, thanks friend.”

“I buried my mother next to my father on a hill near a shady tree. The view up there is breathtaking as you can almost see the whole forest all around you. Members of the Blood Ring came around 5 days later to offer me to join them. There was nothing left for me in Mithrilla, I wanted to leave. I accepted thinking that one day I be strong enough to have revenge on the murderer that killed my mother. 3 years I was with The Blood Ring. Things changed though, The Blood Ring seemed to be more mysterious then I could have imagined. They started to sacrifice animals and I heard screams of men and women. I went to investigate to find out that they were only having sword duels and someone slipped with their weapons. I went out of my tent that night on patrol and overheard 2 drunk men talking of a past successful mission. The mission was the death of my mother. It turns out as I overheard the drunken men talking, they said of higher orders were given of the matter and it was not to be discussed. The drunken men laughed at this, which was their last laugh. I killed them and let them lay as they were. I ran back to my tent and the scariest thing ever, I saw a trail of blood coming from the 2nd in command’s tent. I snuck next to the tent and peered inside. I saw a woman being sacrificed, by 6 hooded cultists with daggers forming a pentagram in blood. I was shocked at what had happened that night; I decided to leave The Blood Ring for good. I snuck back to my tent and packed whatever I could carry and not hinder me the most in movement. I left that night heading southeast.”

Stares into his empty goblet.

“The Blood Ring has been following me for 3 miserable years. I fought some of them recently, an advance guard I think.”

Looks up some sort of relief.
“That is my story, but who are all of you and what business do you have in this town. What has been going on around here?”

Stare into Womble’s eyes, “I am no spy.”

Jolie entered, with willow and aurora in tow,
they all walked towards the table, to find
out who the mysterious man was.

Womble called to Willow,"Willow! Help this man!"
She approached, and looked kind of drawn out, from doing that spell.
But,she was getting better tho!....and fast!!....so was Aurora!!,...
maybe they both "feed" off
each others energies and essences,
thought the ever-thinking orc <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/think.gif" alt="" />

Willow bent down and touched Virgo's weakened body. Light passed from hands to wounds,
like an electrical flash, (somewhat like the bulby type things on the wagon), only way
brighter..... and closing the wounds, as if in slow motion, to restore the flesh.

"There!" , said Willow, very surprised, "good as new!"

Womble called urgently to Jessica, to get more pints over here , quick!!
He turned to Virgo, and stared as if he was trying to sum it all up..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" /> [color:"orange"]
"Tell us of yourself, Virgo." "so we can make sure you're not a bloody spy....." he said.
Jurak had heard tell of this faraway place, when he was young, more tales of his father's...
Mithrilla is very far from here to the Northwest, many miles up the rugged coastline,
where it is said, "no adventure is worth it's weight in death", whatever that means,
Virgo had told about the the Blood Ring that had been following him for 3 wretched years,
and spoke of a recent battle with some of the advance guards, or he thought so...

Womble passed the tray of mugs around the table,
and the discussion went on,
Virgo took a glass of mead, nodded at Womble, and said "I am no spy.",
he sounded a little nervous, like maybe he had lost a lot of blood!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
[color:"#33cc33"]That's quite a tale, my friend....by the way when exactly was the last time you ran into some of these hoods? ,
Jurak asked with a little reluctance.
He informed Virgo that there was a wagon of theirs, just south of here that had supplies
and items, which would be necessary so they could continue on, they had only come here by chance.....Jurak was explaining,...
"how Viper was in a dire emergency, then Willow and Jolie had a child in a field, and when we finally got to the village,
it ended up being attacked, and thats where you came in", he said.

Nero went upstairs to get Luc, so they could be ready, when the time came.....
Jessica was polishing the "many" dirty glasses and mugs, from earlier on,
but whistling a happy tune, at the same time. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
It seemed a little more relaxed now, than it was during all that turmoil....
Virgo managed a weak smile, to the rest, and sipped his mead, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />

Jurak laughed, and outside the inn's door,...
the pig oinked, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
and the rat squeaked! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />,
as
some mud flew through the door..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

They sat discussing future plans, and stratigies of battle, that was right up
womble's alley, and got him quite happy to talk. Virgo was looking better all
the time, or was it just the mead? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Womble broke his thoughts for a moment to ask Virgo, if he thought any of
those "BloodRing members" were following him.
"if they are, he said, "they will be easy prey for a group like this!"...., and chuckled.
Womb looked a bit distressed, but implied that we'd deal with that problem
when it shows...it's ugly face! Arrggghh!

The discussion led to the wagon and the lake and, how they were investigating
around the lake, and the fact that the wagon was there and needed
to be fetched, back to town for re-fitting and stocking
...and to check that squeak in the left-rear of the wagon...
...or was that the rat all along?
Jurak asked the tall stranger
[color:"#33cc33"]Virgo,well you could repay us...
by accompanying us on our challenge's,
and joining our group of questseekers.."
Virgo said he would be more than happy to accompany them on their trip...
....
Womble looked at Jurak, and nodded towards the door,
[color:"orange"]"meat must be gettin restless by now,
and he's gained like 20k....
just from being tied up there!!
he finished his glass, and walked over to give the empty to jessica,
then went to the outhouse, to see if Viper had fallen down the "hole" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

Nero came down the stairs, heading towards the table......
[color:"#00cccc"]
Jurak needed to go to see Floyd, about getting a hold of some grease,
or oil for those squeaky wagon wheels, and figured
now was as good a time as any, seeing that nothing was happening at the moment...
[color:"#33cc33"]I've got to go see Floyd the smith, for some grease,
and i shant be but a moment!.....
Jurak got up from the table, and told Virgo where he was going, and that he
would be right back.
Virgo's reply was unintelligible, but he managed a large grin,
and a nod that he understood.

On his way to the smith's, Jurak noticed there were more people in the streets,
than before, he asked one passerby what the commotion was....and they replied
that news of the deamons was spreading across the land....and they just came
to have a look....and see for themselves.

Floyd's shop was open and Jurak walked through the door, and overheard part
of Floyd's conversation with another customer....
"no, i deal in metalworks and speciality items only, if you need a
woodcrafter, you will have to go to the next town Trojik, or far to the north",
he was talking to a short, oddly dressed gentleman, of the midget variety.
He was wearing the most curious clothes, Jurak had never seen anything like his
cap, which was made from leather and had little flaps coming down over the ears,
with two clear circular lenses, fastened together with a leather strip hanging
about his neck. His overcoat was very thickly padded, and also made of leather,
the trousers of this fellow were very baggy with numerous pockets down both
sides, and his boots were of finely polished cowhide. He walked up to Jurak and
asked, if there was anywhere around, to get two fine pieces of knot-free
timber, for this here project i'm working on...
as he waved the papers in Jurak's face..

[color:"#33cc33"]Ummm...yes there is trees of that straightness, and knot free for the first 38-40 meter mark,
and i have a friend... who is very good with an axe,
and would certainly be very interested in those plans your waving around <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif" alt="" />
the trees are close by at the Azure Mtn. lake area,
and they are very tall...
why would you be in need of such fine grain timber, my friend?

The man went on to say that where he came from,
there are very few trees left...well the good ones anyway,
they've all been used for the building of boats, housing, docks, and shops,
and the rest was exported to the many islands up and down the coast,
anyways....the reason i need this clear lumber is to fashion some air blades
for a machine that these here plans are for.... i know it works already,
for i have one at my home, but one of the blades was hit by lightning,
and it cracked up the whole length, ruining it!
Your friend....the one who handles the axe, where is he?

[color:"#33cc33"]He is at the Inn, my friend.....come we will go meet him,
his name is Womble, and I am Jurak, i'm sure you both,....
will have much to talk about....Mr.....ah, Mr....
"Oh, quite rude of me I must say indeed,
and he stuck out his hand and said,

" pleased to meet you Jurak, my name is Yeager!"

[color:"#33cc33"]Hold on a sec, Yeager i've got to get some oil from Floyd,...
he went to Floyd's counter, tossed a few coins, for the oil, and walked
back over to Yeager....

They left the shop and were soon back at the inn, when they walked in, they
saw Virgo was still sitting up....at least,!
Jurak and Yeager walked over and sat down... again...

to wait for Womble to come back from checking about Viper, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />

*pain*
sooo...o..much...pain

They came in flashes. I saw the troll, the wizard, the castle, the island, the coast, and then my self.

"I need to press on, I need to continue"

"I am sorry everyone, but I cannot continue without seeking the man in my visions, he haunts me in a way that I cannot describe"

"I love you all, though I cannot even dream of asking you to come with me on this quest. I will continue alone if need be" At that moment LadyStreak bit me letting me know that I wouldn't be alone "besides LadyStreak of course. if I had company even for a bit it would be welcome"

"Jolie, which way to the coast?"

"Well Luc, Coast is to south-east. About 5 days travelling."
I wasnt to sure about letting him go on his own. I looked at Willow, she looked at me. NO words were needed to know what we both tought.
"Hey, Luc. We'll accompany you at least for a bit. We dont know yet were the wizard is who keeps the nymph, maybe we find something along the way. And besides, there are to many painfull memories here."

He nodded. I got Aurora, who was still playing with the owners dog, and we went off.

[color:"00cccc"] I had checked on Viper and came back to the bar. "Now where's Jurak?" I thought to myself. I checked and saw him talking to a..... halfling maybe. Difficult to be sure. Strange sight, the halfling appeared to be talking back to Jurak's kneecap!

Luc said that he had to leave. He was going to find the man in his visions. His reasons why were obvious from his pained expression. Jolie and his family decided to escort him. We said our farewells and they were on their way.

I wandered over to see Jurak and his new 'friend'. I soon found out his name was Yeager and he was an inventor of sorts. He talked about the wood he needed for his device. I looked in the book of schematics we'd taken from Aganeth's library. I pointed out the drawing of the gyrocopter. "That's it!" He grinned excitedly. "Would you fashion such a device for me?" I asked. "I can help as I'm handy with a toolbox myself!"
"There are much more than simple tools involved there my dwarven friend.... Its design requires matmatical precision and balance."
I felt humbled by this halfling's intelligence. "Then teach me!" I said.
"First the wood." Yeager said flatly.
"Why do you need my help chopping down a tree?" I asked.
"Have you seen the size of these things? I'd break my poor little arms before I dented one!"
"Hmmm, point taken..."

That was that. I wanted the device. It would give me an alternative entry point to the castle. Jurak went to pack the sled and I returned to the bar to say farewell.
"Where are you going?" Said Viper from behind me, startling me.
"Just back out to the Azure Mountains to observe Rabaer's castle again and pick up the rest of the supplies. Oh yeah, and to chop wood."
"Chop wood?"
"See the halfling over there talking to Jurak?"
"Uh huh...."
"He needs some 'perfect wood' or something which is only found in the trees of the Azure mountains." Viper looked questioningly, I shrugged.
"Count me in then!"
"You sure? What about....."
"Dqueene's dissapearance is a mystery to me. I can do nothing about it now. Maybe she's just..."
"Don't think like that! You'll see each other again someday!"
"Anyway, best not to sit around brooding"
"I agree Viper, get your gear then."

So it was that Viper, Jurak, myself, Virgo and the odd Yeager set out from Beregost to the castle of Rabaer. The trauma of losing our friends was still with us, but we would grow stronger from it......

[color:"#00cccc"]Jurak headed outside to prepare the sled for the trip to Azure Mtn. lake area, he grabbed the oil,
that was purchesed from Floyd the smith, and applied some to the squeaky rear wheels.
Yeager was amazed, at such a simple solution... that the wood they were needing,
was to be found at the Azure mountains, thought he would have to travel much further.
After finishing the preparation of the sled, they walked up the stairs to the Inn...
Viper was back and was talking to Womble,...
"Where are you going?" Viper asked Womble, who replied
[color:"orange"] "Just back out to the Azure Mountains to observe Rabaer's
castle again, and pick the wagon, along with the rest of the supplies."

Oh yeah, and to chop wood."
Viper said he would go along, because he guessed,
it was best not to "sit around brooding"

womble's reply to that....[color:"orange"]"get your gear then."

Luc said that he had to leave and find the man in his visions,
and his pained expression, said it all...
Jolie, Willow, and Aurora decided to escort him, part of the distance...

Jurak was telling Yeager of their trip through the old forest the first time...

[color:"#33cc33"] Yeager that is quite some forest, we are heading to...
some very tall "giants" of trees, some being 800 year's old, and older!!,
up to 100m and higher!! ...he rambled on...
as they were making final preparations.....

womble mentioned, about seeing the very large mushrooms,
and said that one alone would feed a person for a week!

The ever-busy little Yeager, was most happy to be going on a journey to a
forest he had only previously heard about....
"I've heard there are Dragons, and demons and all they want,
is to control the forest and it's habitants...,
and they are always terrorizing, and hurting the people
who travel those roads, this will be scary, won't it?"

Jurak replied that this is not true, just another silly rumor,
passed from town to town, down the line...
some things will never change thought the orc..... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />

I walked out of town to the southwest. I walked thru the woods on a trail that obviously hadnt been used in a long time. "What had I been doing I thought to myself. I remembered being enraged and wanting to find anganeth...then it was blank and then I woke up in the middle of beregost which was being attacked by demons and the undead....how much time had I lost...what had I been doing? I continued walking and came to a lake that was long and narrow with a waterfall at the southern end. Something tickled my nose...a familiar scent. It hung in the air and there was no trace of it on the ground....jvb. How in the hell had he been flying I thought to myself? (remember I was possessed and still dont realize the little guy can turn into a dragon) He fell in the water I thought. Without another thought I dropped my things and dove into the lake...it was coooold. I swam down farther and farther not seeing him anywhere. I swam all the way to the floor of the lake and saw his body imbedded in the bottom. I had to pull very hard to dislodge him but eventually I freed him and pulled him up to the surface. Once on shore I noticed that jvb had changed since I saw him last. His body was covered with scales and his eyes were...well they were really cool looking....

[color:"00cccc"] So we set off down the trail to the Azure Mountains. Yeager was getting impatient to leave. He seemed highly-strung to me, always on edge like a frightened mouse. Exteemly clever though. Apparently he'd been educated at a prestigious dwarven engineering guild, the 'guild of everlasting steel' apparently. I still couldn't remember where my skills came from....

We chatted as Jurak drove, Yeager and I on the sled. Meat and Fe playing happily. That pig was getting fat now he didn't have to carry me around.... Viper and Virgo rode horses guarding each of our flanks. The horses had been gifts from the Beregost stablemaster. They seemed to like us there now.....

Yeager talked of his ideas, they facinated me. He drew a design to for a different gear system for the sled. It would apparently make it go faster. I didn't know it that was a good idea or not with Jurak driving! We hit another bump. "Ooooo me [nocando]!" I said, "it's black and blue!"
"Hmmm, you need bouncers!" Yeager replied. Sitting atop a cushion that he had mysteriously found.
"What the bloody hell are bouncers? Apart from large breasts?" I replied, puzzled.
"Noooo, crude dwarf! Listen, bouncers help to absorb the force from the vehicle's impact with the ground whenever a bump is crossed by the wheels"
"Ah! Like springs?"
"Yes, but the use of these 'springs' is a little more complicated than would first seem. If you could find the metal I'm sure I could draw up some plans somewhere."
"We shall see." I smiled. "Hey Jurak!"
"Uh?"
"Is that where we stopped to camp before? Halfway there right?"
"Yeah I think so..."
"Ok then stop her here, me bladder's bustin'!"

Once we had all taken care of 'business' we settled down at our old camping spot for the night. We'd been on the road for 6 hours and the azure mountains were in sight. It would be a short trip tomorrow. Darkness was falling.

We had a few sips of the jug of mead the innkeeper had given us for not allowing his tavern to become an undead hangout.
"Not bad." I said after a sharp intake of breath. This stuff was potent even for my tastes. I offered some to Yeager.
"No thanks!" He replied, drawing up plans by firelight in his little notebook. "I don't have your famous constitution my dwarven friend."

So we rambled on into the night, Virgo was easy to talk to. He told us of his adventures and how the Blood ring may be following us.
We all took watch after that, Virgo was not going to be sacrificed by these lunatics if I had anything to do with it.....

[color:"00cccc"]“Thank you my friends for all that you have done for me. Its getting late I need some rest good night.” I wander off away from the others but still in sight next to a tree.

I woke up staring at the stars in the midnight sky. Feeling slightly cold I tugged on my blanket only to realize I never had a blanket. I had on only what I wore as I lay upon the grass next to an underneath a tree. I had chosen this spot away slightly away from group for it seemed by habit. I had slept in the shadows for the past 3 years watching my back. Perhaps it was time to break old habits and sleep near the group, comforting myself near the warm fire.

I got up, dusting myself off quietly not to disturb anyone. I turned and looked at my fellow companions. All of them appeared to be asleep. My companions seemed a strange bunch; most I didn’t even know by name except one, he called himself Jurak. I wish some of them would introduce themselves. Alas they were suspicious of me, and rightfully so. They have no idea what trouble they have welcomed into their group. I had left the Blood Ring against their will, I was a deserter to them and they wanted me dead.

I wished I were back home with my father and mother. But there was nothing to return home to, except a lonely house full of sadness. Having the Blood Ring chase me after all these years made matters worse. Now I had some direction in my life besides just trying to stay alive, I would follow my fellow companions on their quests. Perhaps along the roads I will find the meaning of my life or be sent along another path to travel. All that matters is that I survive to carry on my bloodline. I’m the last member of my family alive.

I hugged my cloak tightly around myself and moved to find a new sleeping spot close to the fire. I halted my movement and spun around. I saw something glowing eerily red moving in the woods. I decided to take a closer look at the source. I walked back to my original sleeping spot and was shocked. I saw the glowing eerily red source move deeper into the woods, so I followed.

I finally came to a clearing and confronted the glowing eerily red source. There were six giant red fireflies just flying around in a pentagram in midair. I turned around at the sound of feet disturbing the leaves on the ground behind me a couple of meters. I soon found myself trapped.

There was a mysterious red-cloaked figure in front of me now. The red-cloaked figure spoke, “We will take you back and kill you as a lesson to others. Before we kill you, we’ll tear your flesh off and make your blood boil in your veins while your still alive. Then we will sacrifice you to our master. I leave you, to my minions.” With that the red-cloaked figure disappeared.

I noticed a mist or haze on the ground when 6 skeletons shot up from the earth. They wielded rusted swords and maces wearing ancient armor and they stood taller then me. There was a huge giant skeleton among them, which had a crown on its head and held a two-handed halberd. I jumped back from the shock and felt for my two-handed great sword, and just in time as a red like giant demon creature jumped down before me from the trees. It stood twice as tall as the giant skeleton. Having red scaly skin and two white horns protruding from its skull. It lunged at me with its long white claws and it’s fangs.

I pulled my huge great sword free.

Willow, Jolie, Aurora, Dragh, and I started making our way through the woods. It seemed to be very bright ahead of us, shimmering almost, very hypnotic. As we got closer I noticed that it was a lake, and waht a beautiful lake it was. I was letting the air comming off of the lake hit me in the face when I noticed them.

"Everyone, LOOK"

Nero, and JVB were sprawled at the side of the lake, Nero looked like a wet dog, and JVB was different....

We ran to help them!

[color:"#00cccc"]Jumping up totally wide awake, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" /> after whatever that awful screech was,
Jurak stared wide mouthed at womble who was, reaching for his axe already.
the two bounced upright, and headed towards the sounds...
they were coming from a clearing
over to the left of where Virgo had been earlier,[color:"orange"]
"hey viper ...better wake up, sounds like there's a bit of trouble over here"!!,
Womble shouted.
Viper was ready at a moments notice.....
Yeager was looking rather "skittish", and Jurak suggested
that he just stay here and hide under the wagon
till they got back..
he didn't hesitate to agree.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

they all went together to the source of the disturbance,
viper noticing that virgo wasn't with the group...[color:"orange"]
"I hope Virgo's not in trouble already". <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

It didn't take long to find out...
they arrived at the clearing and could clearly see, there was gonna be some a battlin'
goin down..there was a strange mist or haze on the ground, where 6 skeletons,
were standing
with rusted swords and maces, they were wearing ancient armor, and were a little taller than
Virgo who was swinging his great sword blade wildly at them,
Jurak noticed the giant skeleton, with the crown and the halberd,
off to the left of the other skeletons.
Womble shouted again, [color:"orange"]
"LooK!!...in the trees there",
pointing to a crimson deamon type creature, just about to jump at Virgo...[color:"orange"]
"Virgo!,WaTcH OuT !!...
this creature was UgLy...red scaley skin and white horns in it's skull,
and claws and fangs.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
Viper stayed at the opening to the clearing and readied his bow...

[color:"#00cccc"]I readied my bow and Aimed for the skeleton in the tree, only.... where did I have to shoot him? between the eyes, he has no brains, in the chest? there's nothing there!!

So I just shot at him, as fast and as many as I could. It prevented him from jumping onto Virgo and We had all it's attention now.

"Ready for this one Womble"
He nodded, "Let's kick this one's behind <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> "

"I don't know if we can kill him but we can try cutting of some limbs and such, I think magic needs to kill the foul creatures"

The skeleton approached

Jolie, Luc, Aurora and myself (Aurora was having a great time riding "the horsey!") headed toward the coast, when we came across JVB and Nero.

But, as i had suspected, JVB was not what he had appeared at first glance.
I had always known that there was something diffrent about him, and now his transformation had come.

He was a fire dragon!

Aurora tottered up beside him, and knelt beside him.
She had never seen such a large creature.

I walked up beside her, and told her that this was JVB, and he was a dragon.
Not sure how JVB would react to her, i took her by the hand, and led her away.

We sat beside the lake, and i told her stories about dragons. They were very old, and lived a great many more number of years than even elves...
They did not have many enemies, except man, who did not understand them and felt them a threat. They were great warriors, and defenders...they enjoyed treasure. And, they often live female human maidens to sing to them...

Jolie came up to sit beside us.
He too started in on the stories...
I left them and went to make sure everything was okay with Nero and JVB, they both looked very tired...

Viper was firing, rapid fire, arrow after arrow, trying to pick the limbs
from their sockets. He had already downed two skeletons
to a mass of disjointed arms, legs and torso's....while,
Virgo was "hacking and slashing" his way out of the "tight circle" of skeletons
which was quickly becoming, a circle of "bone chips" ...
[color:"orange"]"In the trees there", womble shouted!!
Jurak moved quickly up to the tree, and heaved the winged sword upwards
through the chest of the dying, diving deamon, it screeched like a thousand bats,
while at the same time, desperately trying to wriggle free...
it would be of no use..., Jurak twisted the mighty barbed blade,
and ripped it out the side of the writhing beast!
It fell on the ground and twitched for a few moments...
that is,
until Womble bounded over with his hefty axe,
and sheared the twitching beasts, head cleanly !
...it rolled over to rest in the pile of bones.
Viper was saying something about needing magic to kill the foul creatures" ...
Womble's reply to that was another swift heave of the axe in the direction
of the skeleton's neck....
[color:"orange"]"See, you've got to be quick and deadly...sever the heads, severs the dead!"., as he swug around,
as if in fast motion and finished off the rest of the pile...
They watched as the be-headed skeletons crumbled away.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
now they focused their attention on the large skeleton with the halberd and the crown...
that crown would be a nice trophy, thought Jurak,.. and the halberd could come in useful as well.
With the smouldering bones behind them
and the giant skeleton in front, Viper was left unnoticed near the entrance to the clearing,
Virgo rolled over to the right... and Womble circled around to the left,
moving in quickly, and taking a fast swipe at the skeletons right leg....
virgo, on the other side ...suprised the startled skeleton, with an upswing of his sword,
removing it's left arm in the process....
the arm fell to the ground and disintegrated on contact, leaving in it's place, the halberd that it was holding.
It let out a nasty gargling noise, and looked down at where its arm used to be,...
arrows were whistling by Juraks head so fast it sounded like a swarm of veryfast bees! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />
somehow one of the arrows struck the crown of the skeleton and knocked it off! ... the large skeleton....
paused for a moment.....
like it was frozen in time....

virgo, womble and Jurak moved swiftly...
and brought a fleeting finish to the foul, frozen frame ...
it fell face down, and the back of it's head
looked like a porcipine...
from all the arrows!!

The enemy had been slain, I was tired, very tired, the disease still ate on me but I felt much butter since a few days ago.
"phew, that was quite the fight. Good fighting guys, nice to know I can rely on you in times of heat. So, what's next? Maybe someone can pick up the Halbred and the crown.
I think I saw a nice set of leggings on one of the skeletons"

I searched the 'corpses' for the leggings, they seemed very decent. I kept looking and looking but I couldn't find them anywhere.

Then I noticed some corpses lying a bit further in the woods....
