Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks A Tale of Two Tomes(minor spoiler Maxos Tower)

I am currently stuck on this quest, ive searched the rooms up above the chest that lies underneath the stairs (its my understanding its in that chest where the quest item lies), I have found 2 keys which have opened up the chests upstairs but the one downstairs for this quest remains locked, ive continued to check all the rooms for any additional keys but so far to no avail, please assist in any way possible to advise of where the missing key is, thank you.

There is a hidden room in one of the rooms upstairs, did you find that? You use the bookcase I think to open it.
There is a key and possibly the blood (can't remember exactly) you need in that room.

Thank you for the quick assistance, you were right, in one of the rooms on the bookcase was a book that was sticking out, and as soon as I used it the room expanded reaveling the blood and missing key for the book downstairs, thanks once again for your help.

Glad to help and even more glad that I'm not as senile as I thought.

Be sure to look all around areas as there are more hidden rooms and such in the game.
The map even shows some "hidden" rooms on it so be sure to look at that when in areas as well.

EDIT: Your username brings something to mind, you don't play the game wolfquest made by the Minnesota zoo by chance do you.

hey, nah im not familar with the game Wolfquest, I just typically use this name on most online related things, and had it on xbox live since it launched, originally picked it up on everquest, thanks once again for your help, ive also started following the guide on gamepressure.com, I still wish prima games hadnt skipped out on creating a divinity 2 guide though.

yea. enter the room with the 3 stair cases that lead to the same upper floor. it should be the farthest room on the right. click the book on the shelf and u will find the blood and a key for a chest that gives u the book u need(or maybe the chest holds the blood. either way. lol)
