i was wondering if i can go to aleroth before i destroy all of the fortress', you know, can i go to aleroth and come back again?

yes you can
but be sure that you are high level
preferably 30 or 30+

yeah raven got right is better to be higher lvl than 30 especially for that quest for shield in a ministry

But be sure to use monsters respawn so you can ge nice amount of XP

While you are doing mission to get shield Zandalor will ask you to protect him while he shut down portals.Don"t protect him.Let them come trough portals and start killing them.use that adn you can get level or two.

I actually went before I did any fortresses... I'd collected 6/9 pieces for the ship and was still able to go (unintentionally) but completed it without too many complications with my creature at I'd say between 25-26.

Actually you can go to Aleroth as soon as you collect 1 each of the 3 pieces needed to get the Zeppelin flying again....so really you could go at lvl 20. You can use the Plaza portal and make use of the elite armors and jewelry the vendors sell. You dont HAVE to go inside the ministry and do that quest untill you feel ready.

I learned that gathering the complete armor sets for my class from the Fortresses give better stats than a full set of Legendary...but i saved all my Malachite Gems to max enchant my armor, weapons and jewelry too.... just a thought....

Seconded, I wish I had saved a couple for one of the Armor sets.
