This may have a few spoilers, if you dont like it, dont read it.

This game is way too damn difficult. I am stuck at the place where you are in the flashback at the hall of echoes with all the people surrounding that lady, then you have to fight them. Once the game loads that area, I barely have time to react at all. My difficulty is set to low and I have the best weapons/armor i could possibly get. Seriously, make the game difficult but not IMPOSSIBLY difficult. I've wanted to throw the disc at the wall soooo many times because its frustrating!

Anybody agree/disagree with this?

hi everyone. yes i have found the game hard as all get out sometimes. i don't know how many times i've gotten into situations where less then a second passes and i'm dead. i don't mean in the middle of the game either, it had happened so many times right from the beginning of arriving at broken valley. i haven't gone into the hall of echo's yet but i'm on my way, everything else is finished. i'm a lvl 35 warrior, i'll see what happens shortly but from everything i've read on this forum, i don't expect to live long. i'll keep trying though and when i can't get any further i'll ask for help. another thing, you said you are set on easy, how do you do that?

To set your difficulty, press ESC, then options, then gameplay.

I have encountered difficulties (note - I am now in process of reistalling the game at level 10) if I have tried a specific quest too early. Luckily, you can run in the wilds and do several non-mainquest related tasks.

I am wondering:

- Do you mindread NPCs to "trigger" quests not otherwise available?
- Have you discovered the Tree that can make you healing and other potions?
- Have you leveled up consistently with your fighting style? While pick lock and mind read are useful skills, you should focus on your main fighting style and not diversify too much, also paying mind to generic specialisations such as two handed weapon fighting or two handed weapon fighting

I found the "Put the Ghost to rest" quest impossible when I first rushed into it, but very manageable after having done side quests.

This may not be true after Laiken tower (my glitch problem) but if you have done few of the side quests, this may help.

i can't set difficulty like that, i play on the x-box.
i mind read everybody and you'll find many more things to do. not all mindreads prove useful but in the end i found it useful. as far as the tree goes, you'll also find out about that through a mindread. don't want to say to much and spoil it. just mindread everyone.

Then I think it is maybe a matter of your gameplay prefernces vs how you level up. Do you focus on attributes that support your preferred style?

If figher (I understand this is the case) then focus mainly on vitality, strenght, dexterity, somewhat depending on specialization.

Choose a fighting style you adhere to: two handed, dual wield, shield and sword, and focus accordingly.

X box must surely have difficulty level too, though.

maybe i should say i have found this game to be difficult right from the start. i don't know what my difficulty is set at but right now i'm ready to go into the hall of echo's. i'm warrior class lvl33. i'm just hoping to encourge you to keep on fighting. that was done for me when i was having a hard time so i was waning to pass it on.

i should mention that i died a lot, a whole lot.

I don't know about you guys, but for the most part I found this game pretty easy, but then I did everything I could before going to next part of the story. I have now beat it once on normal and once on hard.

-Warriors stats should be almost all strength I find. Vit is not that important and only increases health, while strength increases damage, health regen, and melee resistance.(also, dex does nothing for you as a warrior, unless you want to use a bow as well)

-I never made a mage or ranger, but I did make a warrior/mage combo my second time and that made the game even easier, even on hard. I went about 20 vit with somewhere around 80 in each of strength and intel I believe(can't remember exact choices).

And always have health potions, ALWAYS and be not afraid to spam them. Throughout the game I always tried to have 30 to 40 health potions on me and I spammed the b-jesus out of them. Also remember that if you really need it rejuv and health potions stack and you can drink one of each.

Try exploring everywhere and keep your lv up, also kill most monsters before you turn in your quests, because every time you lv up you gain less ex from monsters, but the same for quests, so if you turn your quest in early and then kill the monsters, you lose a significant amount of exp from each of those monsters that you could have gotten at a lower lv, so always try to stay in the same lv as the monsters will be fighting, maybe a lb or 2 higher if you have trouble

Same here, i had no problems finishing in first playthrough with lvl 35, and i thoroughly enjoyed it.Only issues that i had was that game got incredibly easy once when you hit lvl 30.I run through the fortresses and next zone in record time on that level(didn't even need to heal myself, except in dragon form).

Only had slight issue with final fight , they manage to get me below 50% at one point. This was on Normal difficulty.

Important things... enchantments, potions and planing ahead.

I stopped playing this game because it was too hard,on the lowest setting,so yeah I agree with you,too bad because I was enjoying it...I got my Battle Tower though now so I might respec, and not go Mage(lots of spirit and intelligence)this time around because going Magic missile mostly does not help much in this game...the problem is there is too many ennemies shooting at you from afar,at once, in this game for the pretty useless targetting system...

Go for Magic Blast richard12 wink ... that's a stronger and faster spell, but with a longer cooldowntime, but that's not so bad at all... in the meanwhile you can use other spell or melee weapon or bow! With a bow and a skillpoint in Ranger Stealth you can mostly attack a enemy before he/she see you coming biggrin !
And when you attack and that enemy comes closer, walk back immediately and if you're lucky one, only one enemy comes closer and you can defeat it without all other enemies they attack/surround you! ...

And you can also do the following thing with Ranger Stealth (passive skill):
hold your bow, focus on 1 enemy and if you "see" that enemy (his name and level), use Magic Blast or another spell (or shoot first with your bow and after that immediately a spell)...

The passive skills "Destruction" (makes your spells stronger!) and "Confusion" (gives your more time, the enemy stand a few seconds at the same place - depending on how much points you put in this skill): both skills are for me great in combination with using spells!

In the beginning of the game I used the first 2-handed sword I can found! Great good damage and each time I found a better 2-handed I change! And keep attention to Arben's Sword, a great one (by me it has 3 empty enchantment slots and more good things!)!
The Ghost Arben give you this, but Rhode take it away from you! But Rhode give you this sword back nearby the Maxos Temple, before the fight with the Dragon Slayers

Note: please don't dismiss completely DEX and INT as these boost other important stats Range and Magic Resistances, and INT boosts Magic damage and mana regen (INT boosts magic damage far more than STR boosts melee) whereas DEX boosts Crit damage.

Also you want to use a bow no matter what to open up with in encounters (it very very strong early game, and later is useful for splitting mobs up so you can take them on 1-2 at a time instead of all of them).

One thing I have found, however slow and tedious, is to find a place to hide, pop out & charm a monster from a distance. Then the monsters will target him and vice versa. Rinse and repeat a few times until a large group is manageable. Playing a warrior mage, and like I said, it's slow going sometimes, but I stay alive longer. The downside, I think, is no XP if you aren't the one actually killing the mobs.

Is reality just a fantasy?
