Larian Studios Forums Divinity II The Dragon Knight Saga / Flames of Vengeance (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Sky Fortresses and Sinister cave?

Are these entirely optional areas or are these part of any quests? I've explored the Fjord in it's entirety and have met with the Patriarch, but I haven't found anyone mention visiting the four sky fortresses or the sinister cave.

Why'd you want to bypass the XP, LOOT, story, achievements, general good times, is beyond me. If the game let's you move on go ahead. I never really try to skip out on hours of playtime..you DID pay for the game.

As Daft mentions you skip hours of gameplay and other things like skill books.

Also the followers of the battle tower, the ones you hire in sentinel islands, give quests involving killing the leaders of those fortresses. Beside quest rewards they upgrade their area.

Nonetheless I do not remember any quest that is part of the main quest.
