So for my first play through I beat the game as a sword and shield warrior on casual, Seemed once I hit a point in this game I didn't even need a single potion or heal ability as leech life and regenerate took care of anything I had thrown at me(was also just getting away with spamming my regular attack with an occasional whirlwind, which is no doubt due to the casual setting). o.O

So I wanted to beef up the difficulty and try something new, but as I was browsing the forums I couldn't find any stickies(if these exist on the forums) for class build and such. I really wanted to play a ranger, but from what I read it isn't exactly the best of the classes(Sounds like archer in dragon age frown ). There may be post and I'm just not seeing them or I just am blind, The best I found was an "ultimate mage guide" through goggle search, but I want to save the mage class for last, hehe.

It may also be listed in a different forums section, I also wanted to know if the broken valley areas and such respawned? I noticed some of the dungeons in the flames(expansion?) did(how I got out of a experience debt fromt mind reading, hehe).

I just wana make sure I make the most out of the stat points as I can't respec those(my first character was also a bit of a mess and all over with stats in the end), I noticed on my warrior where I was doing 2 str and 2 vit and ended up going way over the 100 cap and wasting points due to gear/charms(perhaps this is unavoidable).

The Ranger in DKS is nothing like the archer in DA. I have 5 characters here, one of each class, and my most favorite is the Ranger. She turned out to be the strongest, what I call "the most over-powered" built. You should most certainly give it a try if you want to dominate. Here's my built at L-46:
Ranger Strenght:15
Splitting Arrows: 15
Exploding Arrows: 15
Way of the Ranger: 15
Wisdom: 15
Reflect: 15
Mana Efficiency: 9
Firewall: 9
Fireball: 5
Heal: 8
Lockpick: 7
Regenerate: 5
Master Herbalist: 5
Encumberance: 3
Mind Read: 1
Poisen Arrows: 1

I'd like to close by quoting Bellegar's famous last rhyme:

"Cursed be the mother that bred thee!
The wench must have been a hell-spawned banshee!"

How was your stat build leveling?

Dexterity and vitality, or have you spread points around into int and spirit as well?

Every enchantment slot is filled with L-10 enchantments.

She wears the "Shadow Archer" set along with the level 40 bow "Invisible Death" that I bought from Gina at Market Sqr. for like 38k gold, enchanted with +100 Normal Dmg, +100 Magic Dmg, +11% Butcher.

Every piece of armor has +100 Life Line and every piece of jewelery has 0.3 Healing Aura for a total of 1.5% Healing. Add to that 0.35 Regen rate and the total comes to 1.85% healing that translates into 30 HP/second recovery.

The rest of the slots are filled with Retribution or Static Charge Auras.

The first number you'll see below will be the "base" (totally naked) followed by / "boosted" (fully dressed).

I never touch the bottle. Haven't tried the new "Nightmare" mode tho. Will be interesting.
