So far my favorite build is an Ranger Mage type wink
I love making spells and using a bow. But some of the warrior skilss I use too, like wirlwind.

But I think I gonna play a Warrior Mage (Battle Mage) once to try such a build.
Or a Battle Ranger? :hihi: (so NO magic spells, only using all kind of weapons)

You guys may like cuts and bruises (it's a macho thing I guess) but because I am female, I have to maintain my looks and skin. That's why I play a ranger where they never get to touch me unless I tell them(!) to touch me! rpg008

Actually, samurai used bows all the time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kyudo

Anyway, as for my favorite build I'd have to say a pure mage. Something about raining down magical death while not even having to wear a melee weapon makes me feel awesome.

Battle mage's cool too you know. A person using bows / missile is a strategist and has deep understandings about tactics and warfare Like in the Battle of Agincourt When King Henry V (English) about 5000 longbows and 1000 Front Infantry can fought against The French Commander Charles d'Albret
about 36 000 knights. The Battle Won by Henry v using higher ground. Cool isn't it?

Hmmm, is it as reliable as your Samurai knowledge?

Splash some water on your face and repeat after me:

This is not real life; I'm just playing a magical game!

Good! Now back to your game wink

No, I refuse to believe your preposterous lies! You'll be telling me there's a world outside the front door next.

Nope, there is a multiverse, and in one of those worlds, you are the most successfull game designer. Find yourself and kill yourself to take your own place ... or something like that !

Don't even joke about that sort of thing! When doing something inadvisable and dangerous I've actually found myself absent-mindedly thinking "oh well, I can always reload". ouch Sigh...

Are exams inadvisable and dangerous? Maybe that explains why I tend to get such iffy results...

Most of my characters were mages, but my very first character was pure melee, and I tried a pure ranger once as well.

Dual wielding Melee with some magic thrown in for flavor. ( No bows though )

Samauri were bow men first...swords men second. Wiki for yourself.

Spartans may have not used bows..but they had no problem hiring people who did.

And indeed 6000 English did defeat 30000 French.

It was due to muddy conditions and the long bow...not higher ground. The French used crossbows...while powerful only had 1/3 the range of the English longbow. The French also believed that they would fight by chivalrous rules..aka knight on knight..while the English king had other plans.

It was a slaughter...

People say I'm crazy..but the voices in my head say I'm just fine.

The French crossbows were also very slow as opposed to the rapid fire of the English longbow.

As to the French vs English battle, there was also rain. The crossbows were useless because of the rain, while the bows were protected from rain, and could be used.

Defenitely warrior specc dual wield. Right now I reached lvl 42 and rush attack (15) combined with battle rage (15) did a 20000 crit and I'm sure it can go a lot higher if I cap Heightned Reflex (right now it's on 58%).

My build is
-> 15 Whirlwind
-> 15 Rush Attack
-> 15 Battle Rage
-> 13 Dual Wield Spec
-> 15 Bleed
And some in Life Leech for the heals

While leveling up the priority on these Skills are defenitely
1) Dual Wield Spec
2) Battle Rage
3) Have 1 point in Rush Attack (I personally only invested the 14 points to make it imba after lvl40 and only when DW, BR, WW and Bleed were caped)
4) Whirlwind (for 360° aoe and push back at 15 it's only 1sec cool down!)
5) Bleed
6) Deathblow (don't put points here until the rest is caped)
7) Reflect (don't waste points on this at all is my advice)

I keep BR on and only use RA and WW as specials rest are normal attacks (good old hack and slash) I haven't tried out Thousand Strikes yet I'm getting soon 5 points from the Viper Armor so I might boost that skill up next and try it.

As for the rest of the skills 1 in Evade and 1 in Healing is Very good for leveling so get them early in the game. Also I use 1 point in Mana leach, this way my mana is always full.

I have 15 in mindread cause I want to know everyone's secret for free but use that only when starting the Flames of Vengeance in Aleroth (the mind reading there is quite expensive so it's worth it)

Always keep Lockpicking caped cause it's frustrating losing the extra loot. You can get it to 7 in Aleroth by mindreading people in Bandit cave (next to playhouse) and using the female trainer at the ministery.

I didn't tried any other specc yet and I'm curious about ranger maybe the game might be harder... I'm in nightmare mode and honestly I'm disapointed in most of the fights. I really thought Ba'al would be an hard encounter but it dies in 3-4 blows in the hardest mode with this specc. I hope the battle against Damien will be more intense smile

Hope it helps!
