Well, so i am asking people opinions on Morrowind....I have read some stuff about it on the forum, but think i am going to buy it (i have finished DD twice, and need something to occupy my free time before RR comes out...)
So, what is it like...?
Thanks all!

Morrowind is a 3d game, but i'm sure you already knew that.
You can do almost everything, the world you play in is realy big, it's possible to get lost. (a lot of npc's)
The are a lot of quests to solve, armour and weapons to find.
It has a nice level up system, for example, if you keep on running, your running skill improve, same with jumping or swimming or slashing with a axe or sword.
Graphics are realy great....
It will take a long time before you have have finnish the main and sub quest's.
Buy it, you won't regret it.
If it does, i will take you out for dinner

I have been frozen in my seat on many occasions not wanting to move my mouse for fear of what might happen next, I’ve heard sounds and voices so clear that I was becoming unsure if they were actually coming from the speakers

It is a cool game. I've finnished it about 2 times, now even with the expantion. But i have to say it is a very buggy game (even more than dd).
Make sure you have the latest patch installed!! It has a very crappy bug: the game simply shuts down without warning or anything. (it seems to be a memory leak.) So good advice: if you buy it and play it: save very very often!!

Its avery big world, can be confusing the fist time you play it. But give it some time till you get the hang of it. After that its fun playing.

I really like the lvl system (is really cool). The story is also very cool. If you've finished the main quest, you can still continue playing and finish every quest you want.

ps: if you get it, buy it with the expantion. Then you'll have a diary system for quest simular to DD. (finished-not finished).

But the choice is yours.

I really liked Morrowind, its fun to play and the construction set they give you with it is pretty flexible.

There are a lot of ways to play the game and a lot of different paths you can take. So many it can be a bit overwelming. Also its very sprawling, and as people have pointed out, its easy to get lost. The NPC's are mostly cardoard cutouts and the combat can get a bit repetitive.

Its still on my hard drive after a year though, Its just so replayable. Bored? start as a totally new character type. If you have used them all, design you own character class. Not happy with a game rule? change it in the construction set or download the mod from the net. Mods I used added hunger, passive animals (animals that aren't "monsters" won't attack unless you provoke them. Before everything would attack you regardless) and toned down the amount of Cliffrunners (A very annoying flying creature, and can you believe I almost typed Riftrunner? ).

There are two expansion packs out, Tribunal that adds a more tightly plotted story, and Bloodmoon which adds a island to the north populated by Nords and (the main point) werewolves. You can become a werewolf yourself (Fortunatly not as inconveniencing as being a vampire) and run around doing various werewolfy based missions.

Higly recommended

Morrowind is a great game.
I don't think there was really anything i disliked about it. Plus, with the Tribunal expansion you can download all kinds of cool stuff off the internet like houses, cities, quests, armor, weapons. My friend downloaded Xena's little throwing disk weapon . That was pretty cool

The game is huge and overwhelming, but it simply did not hold my attention. Each city is unique and brims with quests, but the dungeons look pretty much the same. The game also isn't that challenging unless you've downloaded the patch that adds a difficulty slider (and even then...); I raided one Daedric Shrine and my character became suddenly wealthy. I guess the developers thought it'd be rewarding, but the fact is that all the baddies in such shrines seem to die in one hit.

Freedom of movement and sub-quests make the main plot seem redundant; the game lacks focus. There is very little sense of plot advancement. The navigation, simply put, is the worst I've ever seen. You can get lost very easily in Morrowind.

One complaint I have is the diary. It would be better if you could organise it so that you can see what quests have been completed and what ones are still current. As it is the diary is a mess.

Jk and bean: Actually Bethesda softworks are putting the finishing touches on Morrowind Gold for the X-Box that includes all 3 titles (Morrowind, Tribunal and Bloodmoon). I hope they do a similair pack for the PC as it will probably be cheaper than buying them seperatly.

well...

I finally installed it and checked it out.
It kinda looked interesting. Although I never got further than the first building.
Becouse of the controls.Well... kinda.
Why is my char always moving by itself?
Controling it with the keys isn't that hard.
But... like... my char is standing against a wall. I use the mouse to look around. And as soon as my char detects free space it starts walking in that direction. And it keeps on moving till it bumps into a wall or whatever in that direction.
It should wait till I tell it to move forward. It makes it unpossible to play it.
