Well after playing the game i have some small feedbacks, I will post them one by one, based on category. the first time is about the Dragon Form.

In my opinion, the dragon form feature was the most unique and amazing feature of the game, and it was done quite ok but it would have been cooler if the following was done:

Real Dragon transformation:

magically disappearing and being replaced by a dragon is cool but not the way is done here, its a bit too fake and is trying to show that they were doing it the easiest way possible. but maybe if it was done differently such as:
  • Child of Flame - as in when shape shifting the character turns into a some kinda sphere of fire and bursts to become the dragon, like the dragon burst skill.
  • Child of Flesh - literally shape shift into a dragon, as you can see the hands turn into wings and the body getting scales and etc . . . but that wont be too attractive, but it would be a realistic.

Dragon form available always:

well, not being able to use your draconic powers in many places such as the city is quite a bumer, specially in the flames of vengence since most of the game you were in human form. but lets just say that you were able to turn into a small size dragon to be able to move in the city and when you fly off in the air you can burst into full size. i mean is such a shame not to be able to use the games most unique feature at all times.

Extended dragon skills:

to be able to combine some of the normal skills in the dragon form, and enable a semi melee attack available. like:
  • Warrior Dragon = Rush attack in dragon form, to rush with speed towards enemies in distance and devour them instantly if they are weak enough.
  • Ranger Dragon = Evading Dragon - passive skill to evade some ranged attacks thrown at you,
  • Priest Dragon = Summoner Dragon - sommons different flying creatures to attack and protect others. there is a similar skills, but this one summons undead dragons ?
  • Mage Dragon = Fire missiles ? similar to magic missiles but on the dragon ?

I'm just making the skills up, im sure if someone puts his mind and creativity into it, they can come up with better choices, but i just want you to get the idea.

anyway these are some of the ideas that came up to me during my DKS gameplay, maybe more will come up later but in the meanwhile what you think ?

I agree a bit with dragon transfomartion. FoV is awesome, and playing as Dragon isn't very fun, because it usually brings nothing to story, no quests - escort mission was good, however.

Extended dragon skills?

Warrior Dragon - you can do this, rightclick on the mouse while being a dragon (doesn't work in Talana's vision)
Ranger Dragon - There's no Evade skill against ranged attacks, but with some skill you can usually evade them anyway (exception - Zagan's Cave)
Priest Dragon - You can Summon Wivern.
Mage Dragon - you have that explosion skill, fireball, just like the mage.

But I agree, if dragon wasn't so dull even in the area of skills (and making quests! There should be flying NPC and their quests, main or not), well, maybe then we'd like playing as him more!

yeah, there is some sort of fast speeding, but you cant do melee attacks. i was thinking of targeting a certain npc and move with high speed towards it . . . damn ! if we only could mod this game, im dying to get my hands on the source codes or at least the skilltgts (if there is any on this engine) ?

and i really hate it the fact that in the flames of vengence you could not at all alter any of your draconic skills, or upgrade that amazing new fire blast that destroys a whole fortress with just one blast, imagine if the cool-down on that baby was 1 second !

about the quests, i never could kill damian, and i didnt understood what really happened at the end, since i only killed the ghost and damians fiance ! but i was looking forward to killing daimian and do you know what would be more awesome ? that daimian transformed into a full fledge flying demon and you fought with him on top of the black clouds, or on top of his fortress and creating an epic battle between you and him. i mean there were some bosses in the game like that flying goblin, but it would be awesome if there were more of them

right ?

Then that would be too easy.

Nice suggestions, that got me thinking about suggestions I have for the dragon form.

It's simple really. I just want to transform into a dragon and fly off into the sky. I don't want an invisible wall blocking me. I want it being where you can at least go a few lengths into the clouds and then come swooping down. Area transitions are okay but I'd prefer more open areas to explore in my dragon form.

I've heard Larian say that for one of their Divinity projects - they are working to make the dragon feel more powerful and destructive. I can picture the dragon looking more fearsome and I can picture the dragon actually sounding like a dragon and having powers that are truly destructive.

Apart from killing and flying as a dragon, I want to be able to destroy the structures of our enemies but not like in Divinity II - I actually want to hear the structure crumble as it comes tumbling down and I want to see it destroyed for the rest of the game.

In a dream game about dragons. I could imagine NPCs running off frightened when they see you. Guards assembling with archers to fire at you and the ability to actually land as the dragon. Perhaps as you progress in the game - the dragon gets bigger and either more darker and fearsome or lighter and noble in appearance based on your deeds or type of magic you are learning to use (i.e necro or mage). More armor would be a good and having a feel that you are actually a dragon flying would be the best. In Mass Effect 2 on the solar system's maps, when you controlled the ship, you actually felt that you were controlling it as the controller vibrated and it responded to your every input. If we felt like we were flying a powerful and terrifying dragon, that would just add to the immersion.

I could imagine flying into a mountain as the dragon and actually seeing the effect it has on both the dragon and mountain. Also, when we land there would be a huge bang as you land and all dust would sprout up.

Of course, these are just suggestions and I'm pretty sure Larian will come up with even better ones. All I know is, is that they want to make you feel like a powerful dragon and I'm pretty sure they will achieve that.

Ahh.. dreams... it would be nice if they would use some of these. But it would take much effort on their part, so they will probably use something easier to develop.

I enjoyed playing as the dragon, but the way it manoeuvred annoyed me. For instance, with the rush move, there was instant acceleration and deceleration, with no sense of the forces of inertia and momentum that a dragon that size would generate as it flew. Also, the general movement was a bit mechanical and lacked the fluidity and grace one would expect from a master of the skies, like a dragon.

This is all just nit-picking feedback though, as overall, DKS is the most fun I've had with an old school RPG since the Baldur's Gate series.

Well, first of all thanks for replying, I was off a few days and im happy to see people are interested in topic, and creeped out by the blood and gore thread, that was locked . . . never thought it would go "off-topic" that much, but enough about that.

Now what i ask is not to make it on DKS because I know they wont, but maybe for Divinity 3 ?

I liked . . . i mean I LOVED the idea that Demonic stated, I would also love to go around the world in my draconic state, Imagine a world like "Two Worlds 2" (I dont know if you have played it but the map in that game is free-roaming and has no load gaps in the big Map environment, it only has loads when you enter houses, or castles), so what i mean is that you free roam, around the world, but maybe if you want to protect some areas you can put a magic barrier, like the red circles that doesnt let you enter a certain area, but not invisible walls.

I always wanted to fly from my fortress to other maps, not to teleport, that would be effortless. you might not believe this but teleportation is one of the cheapest tricks a game developer can have up his sleeve, the only way he can hide it is to make it look cool !

maybe also if the dragon flies too high, he will suffocate, so that would be the limit of how high can he go ?

Another FeedBack:

Develop you OWN Dragon Form with Appearance skills

Image you start as a small dragon, then you can invest points, in size, length of the wings, etc . . .

for example, these are the following ideas for dragon form skills:

  • Draconic Shape: Increases the overall size of the dragon. Start with half of the current normal size, and if maxxed you are twice as big as the current normal size.
  • Draconic Wings: you start with a +1 on this skills, the more you invest, the higher you can fly. if maxed you can fly faster and higher (maybe in to the clouds)
  • Draconic Claws: give you the abily to kill enemies by clawing them, or grab enemis on foot and drop them on the ocean ? but if you kill enemies on the ground in dragon form, you get no experience. (to avoid misusage the idea.)
  • Draconic Scales: gives you more armor rating, and making you dragon look more aggressive with scales and horns, making it look like a legendary dragon.

you get the idea, right ?! something like that.

Well, I always say this:

If Larin cant develop it, or doesnt have the money, then Let US do it. Give us the tools, the game would be eternal. Just look at other games that are modable, Like Oblivion or Dragon Age . . . there are alot of mods around, and people keep playing them over and over with different mods . . .

note: by us, i mean general moder

Come on Larian. Please listen to these features! You CAN make one the greatest RPG's ever because you actually listen to fan feedback.

Agreed.

...Also in the next game, make collecting Dragon gear something that isn't pointless. Crystal gear wasn't better in any way that that made of dragon bone, and sometimes worse... Makes no sense and collecting dragon gear is pointless because of that.

This isn't any different than normal armor. Some purples are worse than greens, only with more attributes; some that you don't need or want. Although I do agree that dragon armor needs quality bins.

Nothing to worry about wink
I'm sure the Larian Team reading this and many other posts that give suggestions (and more) for their next game !!
I too writing down in the part of the Suggestion's Thread on this forum many ideas already. No one of the Larian Team give a response (they're free people, but with less time!!), but I'm sure they read all of them ! smile

Yes, Larian belongs to those developers who actually listen to their fans, unlike some other game studios.

well, we dont know that until we see some real change, everyone gets corrupted in power, Ubisoft was not the bitch that it is now. bioware the same. They were like larian but after releasing blockbusters like Divinity 2, they became hungry with power, and fan feedback became like shit to them.

so until the next release, lets not speculate. I rather not Jinx it like this.

Can't agree with you Mvc9 !
Lar_q from Larian Studios recently mentioned on this forum they have the full wish (and good intentions, I'm 300 % sure!!) to make their next game like they did with Divine Divinity !! (Divinity I : Sword of Lies wink )

All the best wave
